Jana’s Birthday: Now Closer to 30 than 20… Ahh! (Giveaway)

Posted June 22, 2013 by Jana in About Me, Giveaway / 52 Comments

Hi! So, today I turned 26, and OH MY THAT’S SO CLOSE TO 30! I remember turning 13 and thinking I was the most awesome person in the world because, HELLO, I was a teenager! That was half my life ago! It’s amazing how time flies. It’s also hilarious looking back on your life and realizing how totally uncool you were back in the day when you thought you were the coolest ever.

Anyway, I thought this would be a fun occasion to thank you all for your support, loving comments, and friendships. I’ve had an outpouring of “happy birthday”‘s on Facebook, Twitter, and even in my email. You’re all so amazing! So, I’d like to give you something. I wish I could give ALL of you something, but then I’d be broke. Haha. So, please enter this giveaway and know I love you!

  1. Happy Birthday!!!
I can recommend Easy by Tammara Webber! Or if you are a fan of paranormal YA then the Soul Screamers series by Rachel Vincent!

  2. Happy birthday Jana!! Seriously, it’s so awesome that your birthday happens to fall upon the day for the Supermoon today. =) Anyways, I think you should pick up Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi if you haven’t read that one, or Raw Blue by Kirsty Eager. <3

Hope you have a very special day!!

  3. Happy birthday! You should get Insurgent to go with the Divergent book you bought! So far I have loved both of them. I didn’t feel like Insurgent suffered from ‘middle book syndrome’ :)

  4. Happy birthday Jana! Hope you have a great day! I loved I’ll Be There by Holly Goldberg Sloan so if you haven’t read that yet, I highly suggest you do! Holly has another book coming out soon (Counting by 7’s) and I’m super excited for that one too! :)

  5. Happy Birthday Jana! I love your blog and you have inspired me to make one myself! :) I recommend Shelter by Harlan Coben. I read it in a day!

  6. Happy Birthday!!!
I saw someone say Siege and Storm..you should definitely read that if you haven’t already…
I recently read Unspoken by Sarah Rees Brennan and loved it so you should try that…

  7. Lea

Happy Birthday! Hope it’s super wonderful with many bookish adventures!
Anything by Darien Gee – I’m reading “The Avalon Ladies Scrapbooking Society” and love it.
Also, have you ever read any of Sarah Vowell? If you’re looking for something different, check out “Assassination Vacation.” I think you would enjoy her humor.

  8. Happy Birthday :)

I think you should get Abbi Glines Too Far series. I loved all 3 books & if you get them, I hope you enjoy them.

  9. Happy Birthday!

    I’m 26 too!! Twinsies! Lol.

I’d recommend Warm Bodies to you if you haven’t read it already! I just finished it! If you’re interested in indie books I loved Gravity by Abigail Boyd and Fair Weather by Barbara Gaskell Denvil (the last one isn’t YA, but Gravity is).

  10. Happy happy birthday!! Crazy how time flies! Don’t you love looking back on how awkward you were when you thought you were the best thing on two legs? Been doing that a lot lately. Teenage years were… special for me.

Birthday wish list book? If you haven’t already, Eleanor and Park is great! Also a book called Dr. Bird’s Advice for Sad Poets should not be missed! Both books are on my blog :)

    Happy birthday again!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

  12. Happy Birthday Jana!
I hope you had a lovely day and spent it with people you love :)
Have you read the new Sophie Kinsella (Wedding Night) already? It’s not her best stand-alone but still a pretty entertaining read.
Lots of love from Vienna <3

As for books, I’d recommend Ignite by Erica Crouch, Damned by Chuck Palahniuk, Outcast by Adrienne Kress and Playing Tyler by T.L. Costa. :)

  14. Did you read Siege and Storm? Because otherwise I’m voting for that one. Or Divergent, so we can read it together :) Or Golden by Jessie Kirby, because it was AMAZING!
Happy belated birthday again! I’m so embarassed I forgot yesterday!

  15. Happy Birthday!!! My birthday is next week and I don’t even know which books I want! There’s SO many! In the After comes out this week and looks good… but I also want The Moon and More by Sarah Dessen, have you read that yet?

  16. I didn’t see Angelfall by Susan Ee in your review list, what about that? :)
PLUS, the second book is finally coming out later this year.

  17. Happy birthday, Jana!! :D If it were my birthday, I’d definitely have Alex London’s Proxy at the top of my list. It just came out and I can’t WAIT to read it.

  18. Happy Birthday!
I would say with The Raven boys by Maggie Stiefvater or Angelfall by Susan Ee if you haven’t read either of them yet. 2 very different but brilliant books!

  19. Amy

I just finished reading Cascade by Maryanne O’Hara and loved it so I definitely recommend that. I also loved Tigers in Red Weather by Liza Klaussmann.
