FallDAC2014WOW. Can you believe it’s September already? This year is seriously flying by. For those you who started school in August, I hope things are going well for you and that you’re not missing summer too much! Luckily we’ve got books to help us escape our busy lives. Hopefully there are some debuts you’ve got your eye on!

As you can see, we have a new DAC button for fall. Feel free to grab it and replace it with the summery one you’ve been using for the last few months. I’ll have a winter one for you in December!

August was another awesome month for reviews! I’m so happy to see that many of you are continuing to read all these awesome debuts, and I know the authors appreciate your support as well. :) Congratulations to Sarah at Confessions of A Bookaholic, who won August’s challenge with her review of Rites of Passage!

Here’s to a wonderful September! Happy reading!

Some things to remember:

  1. Do ARCs count? I just finished 2 debut author ARCs that are scheduled to be published in January 2015 and wasn’t sure if they would count once I post the reviews this month.

      Hi Sarah!

Good question! ARCs do count for the DAC, but only if you read them the year they were published. 2014 ARCs count, but 2015 ones won’t count until 2015.

Also, to be fair to our participants who do not have access to ARCs, we do not allow people to read 2015 debuts now and then save their reviews for January. That would give them a leg up on others. All 2015 debuts must be read and reviewed in 2015 to count towards the challenge.

Thanks for asking, and I hope you have fun! :)

Okay thanks! :) Also I just linked up my review for Belzhar by Meg Wolitzer. I’ve checked on Goodreads and as far as I can tell Belzhar is her first young adult novel which is published later this month. If it’s wrong though I will remove it. Sometimes its tricky to find out if they have written YA before or not.

It is kind of tricky to figure out if it’s an author’s first YA, especially if that author has written a ton of books. I did a little research as well, and it does look like Belzhar qualifies for the challenge. Thanks so much for asking to make sure, though. :) I’m happy to help you!
