Top Ten Tuesday is hosted over at the other blog I write for, The Broke and the Bookish.

I LOVE book covers, so I’ve been really excited to participate in today’s topic. These covers all adorn books I’ve read. Some of them, I absolutely loved. Others, I hated. Either way, the covers are lovely!

Books Featured:

Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo (My Review)
Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
Instructions for a Broken Heart by Kim Culbertson (My Review)
The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith (My Review)
Welcome to My World by Miranda Dickinson
Dance of Shadows by Yelena Black (My Review)
Black City by Elizabeth Richards (My Review)
Paris, My Sweet by Amy Thomas (My Review)
Someday My Prince Will Come by Jerramy Fine (My Review)

So, what do you think? Have you read any of these books? Do you hate/love any of the covers I chose? Link me to your post, and I’ll go see your choices! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Isn’t it weird how you can dislike a book but love the cover? Just goes to show that a cover can be misleading sometimes…. >.<

    • You are SO right. I have been deceived by many a cover, and it’s infuriating, especially since I have read amazing books with terrible covers. They deserve the good ones!

  2. All gorgeous covers. I love that you separated it between books you loved and books you hated. Too bad you hated Paris, My Sweet- it is such a cute cover!

    • I think Dance of Shadows is one of those books you either love or hate. It had its redeeming qualities, and I can see why people love it. I just was not expecting such a paranormal spin.

  3. I absolutely LOVE the cover for The Statistical Probability of Love At First Sight and Meant to Be! I haven’t read them yet, but when I do I hope I love it! :D

I see you didn’t like Black City, I wanted to read it but then I read your review a while back and you said it was very violent and gruesome and I don’t read books like that! :)

  4. It’s so funny, I hated Black City too but I loved the cover, it was gorgeous and made me want to love what was inside, but I just couldn’t! I haven’t read Dance of Shadows yet but I adore the cover, it looks gorgeous. Sorry you didn’t like it. :(
    Great picks!

    • Yeah… Dance of Shadows was terrible. Honestly, though, I’d rather read it again that Black City. Hopefully you like it more than I did. :)

  5. Lol. I almost divided my list into books I liked, and books I didn’t like, but I realized that after I’ve read a book, my feelings for the cover change. I really love covers that accurately represent the story.

I haven’t read Dance of Shadows, but I do love that cover! It’s so pretty. But I haven’t heard great things about the story.

    • You know, I totally see where you’re coming from with your feelings about a cover changing once you’ve read it. That’s happened to me before as well. Good point!

  6. I have Jennifer E. Smith’s book’s cover on my list too! I adored that book as well.

I really like the Black City cover (own, but haven’t read yet) and the Dance of Shadows cover (haven’t read yet.)

  7. I love the cover for Meant to Be! And I just finished Instructions for a Broken Heart after reading your review and I thought it was amazing! So happy I got to it! :)

    • Oh, I am SO glad you loved Instructions for a Broken Heart! I’m always so flattered when someone buys a book based on my review. It makes me feel like I’m really contributing! Thanks for letting me know!

  8. Those are pretty covers. I love them all. Do you hate it when a pretty cover draws you in and it turns out you don’t even like the book? That happened to me recently (twice…). It’s so disappointing.

    • YES. It’s infuriating! I want amazing covers to have amazing stories inside! Which books recently deceived you with their covers?

    • Dismal is a good way to describe Dance of shadows, actually. And yes, go get Statistical Probability! It’s wonderful.

  9. Paris My Sweet has such a darling cover! Shame that the insides didn’t match though. Love how colourful Meant to Be’s cover is.

  10. Meant to Be made my list too!! I love the colors in it! The Dance of Shadows cover is so beautiful, but I’ve not heard great things about it, so I haven’t read it yet. I almost put Statistical Prob. on my list as well… I love the black&white with the red and the busy-ness of the airport with the calm of the couple. Cool list!

    • Yay, Meant to Be! I love colorful covers. :) If you do read Dance of Shadows, let me know what you think. Some people love it!

  11. Instructions For A Broken Heart is the book I reaaaally wanna check out from this list :( Can’t find it anywhere! Ugh. Anyway, I love your list :) Really excited for my first TTT post this Tuesday. Pretty new to the book blogging scene, but it seems amazing!
