Welcome to another TTT! You know that feeling you get when you finish a book and then just sit and ponder how wonderful it was? Maybe you just loved the world. Maybe you loved the excitement or the love story or the way that it just sucked you in and wouldn’t let go. Maybe a book was just so, so special because you read it at exactly the right time in your life. These kinds of books were made for this week’s topic: Books I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time. Every single book on my list today is extremely important to me and really shaped who I am as a reader. I wish I could relive reading them for the first time and capture the same feelings I did when I read them originally!
Twilight by Stephenie Meyer
This is the book that made me love reading again. I loved reading as a child, but then required reading in school made me see reading as a chore. I hated it for many, many years. I was in my first year of college when someone brought Twilight to my color theory class and analyzed the color symbolism in the cover for a class presentation. Nobody had ever heard of this book. lol. But then I heard about it again and again… and then I bought it and binged it with my mom like I’ve never done before! And a reader was re-born.
Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco
I was CAPTIVATED and could not stop reading this one. The atmosphere, the writing, the characters. It was exactly what I needed at the time.
The Kiss of Deception by Mary E. Pearson
There’s a twist that scrambled my entire brain and I loved it.
Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard
This book changed my life.
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
This book made me fall in love with contemporary romance. Up to this point, I would never read it. Now it’s all I read!
Catherine and the Pirate by Karen Hawkins
This was my first pirate romance, and it put me on the course to read so many more of them. And it’s still my favorite, but I’m scared to read it again because what if the magic is gone!?
Call Me Maybe by Cara Bastone
My FAVORITE audiobook. I loved it so much, and just grinned the entire time!
Christmas at Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar
The most magical Christmas novel of all time and I want to feel like I’m reading it for the first time forever.
Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
It’s perfect, and it was the perfect read at the perfect time for me. I devoured it and have looked for more like it ever since.
The Gem Thief by Sian Ann Bessey
It’s beautiful and fun and intriguing and everything I love in a heist-type story.

I LOVE Call Me Maybe!! I’ve never met anyone else who’s read it before. It was so cute!
I did this a couple of weeks ago, so I had to do another list today. But there is a link to the one I did lately.
I really enjoyed doing that list, it’s almost like re-reading your old books.
OOh nice ones! I remember The Kiss of Deception twist! I remembered thinking I had it, but then I started thinking it had to be the opposite of it all as my first guess felt too obvious! Lol!

Thrillers don’t make for good re-reads, so that’s the kind of book I probably would have chosen for this topic if I had done it. Riley Sager does such a good job with his!

I almost put Twilight on my list! Such a great, well-written book!
It’s a shame that required reading ruins the magic of books for some readers. I escaped that particular fate but I did really dislike almost everything I had to read for school, just because it was required. I’ve re-read a few of my required books on my own time and really liked them.
I love books that make me smile the whole time I’m reading, like you said about Call Me Maybe. The House in the Cerulean Sea and Geekerella are two I’ve read that did that for me. Great list!

I could have put Twilight on my list, too, but I worry my followers get tired of me mentioning it. Haha! It was the same for me, except I was a young mom and my kids were finally at the age where I could have a few minutes to myself. I picked up Twilight to see what all the fuss was about and my 10 year reading slump ended. :) Great topic today!

Love that story about Twilight. Now that you mention it, I kind of wish I could know what it’s like to read Twilight for the first time without 10 years’ worth of the internet throwing preconceived notions and expectations at me.
And as much as I loved Wanderlove when I read it, a lot of details have started to slip away from memory. I bet that could make my “feels like the first time” list of rereads, too.
I would love love love to relive the experience of reading Anna and The French Kiss for the first time too! That book just literally sucked me into contemporary romances!
