Welcome to another TTT, and the last one of 2021! I hope you had a lovely Christmas, and I wish you a very happy New Year! I hope 2022 brings all of us what we need. Last week’s Books I Hope Santa Brings TTT was so much fun, and I heard that some of you played Santa and spread some cheer. That’s wonderful! I received a few books myself, and I found each of you to thank you personally on social media or in the comment section of your blog. This week’s topic is one of my favorites! I love looking back on my year of reading and sharing my top ten favorite reads. These were all not necessarily released in 2021, I just chose to read them in 2021. At the time of writing this post, I have read 62 books. Considering I had major eye surgery (on both eyes) and haven’t been able to see well since the middle of August I think that’s a really good number! I’m sharing these books in the order I read them.
1. Hotshot Doc by R.S. Grey
A delightful medical romantic comedy (between a surgeon and his surgical assistant) with major swoons and banter.
2. Twice Shy by Sarah Hogle
The sweetest hug in a book, featuring a whimsical mansion, a grumpy cinnamon roll hero, a sunshiney eccentric heroine, and some of the best anxiety rep I’ve seen.
3. A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
A decadently written YA Beauty and the Beast retelling.
4. The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
A heartwarmingly hilarious romance between a young professor and a ph.D candidate, who strike up a deal to pretend to date one another to further his career and dodge the awkward set-ups by her best friend.
5. An Offer from a Gentleman by Julia Quinn
This sweet Cinderella story is third book in the Bridgerton series! I tried really hard to read this entire series in 2021, but I started to get tired of them after the train wreck that was To Sir Phillip, With Love (book #5). I’m hoping to pick the series up again soon!
6. The Winter King by C.L. Wilson
The most sweeping and magical fantasy romance I’ve ever read! Are there more books like this out there? I need recommendations!
7. The Fortunate Ones by R.S. Grey
A very fun fake dating romance between a billionaire and the eccentric girl who works at the country club he frequents.
8. Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
An exciting science fiction journey that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I listened to the audio, and it was phenomenal. An alien and a human meet each other in outer space, each of them on a quest to save their home planets from an apocalyptic infestation.
9. The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss
A friends to lovers romance that takes place in the cutest little English town. Our heroine has hit a dating dry spell and signs up for a series of twelve dates, leading up to Christmas. This is the most festive and coziest Christmas romance I’ve read in a long time, and the audio is amazing.
10. Snowflakes at the Little Christmas Tree Farm by Jaimie Admans
While drunk our heroine purchases a Christmas tree farm in Scotland without knowing anything about farming. The place is a complete and total disaster once she arrives, but luckily the big, fuzzy flannel-clad, sexy pumpkin farmer, his sweet mother, and his adorable little dog are there to help! It’s a magical story that I completely fell in love with.
I can’t believe this year is almost over. I thought 2020 was hard, but 2021 has been even harder. I’m looking forward to better days ahead, and lots more wonderful books!

Given your eye issues, sixty-two books read is amazing. And it looks like you read some wonderful books, Jana! My mom got Project Hail Mary in a Secret Santa gift exchange at a party a couple weeks ago and was complaining that it isn’t the type of book she likes to read. I may have to ask her if I can have/borrow it to read it for myself! It’s on so many people’s favorite’s list this year. The Love Hypothesis is another one I really need to read. Eye surgery sounds horrible, especially for a reader! I’m glad you were still able to get some reading done and that you found these all so enjoyable. I haven’t read any of them, but my husband loved PROJECT HAIL MARY.

Great year of reading. 2021 was definitely a tough year. I’m so ready for brighter days. I need to get my hands on The Twelve Dates of Christmas this week for an upcoming book club. I’m a bit behind. LOL
