Welcome to another TTT! This week I’m sharing my top ten favorite new-to-me authors I read for the first time in 2021! Most of the authors in this list have been writing for a while and I only just picked up a book of theirs, but I did include a debut author because I had to! I’m including which book(s) I read, and how many stars they got from me. I originally thought this was going to be tricky since I wasn’t sure I’d even be able to find 10 new-to-me authors from last year, but I actually read a LOT more new authors than I thought I did!

Which authors did you discover in 2021?
I like that you rated your books. That is helpful so those of us evaluating choices.
I love RS Grey’s books and have read all but two but grabbed the latest the other day. I also have Ali Hazelwood’s The Love Hypothesis to read.
I’m so excited to read R.S. Grey’s newest! I’m so excited that it takes place in Rome! The Love Hypothesis was one of my favorite books from last year, so I hope you get the chance to read (and love) it soon!
I’ve read books by Ali Hazelwood and Andy Weir as well, Julia Quinn is still sitting on my TBR.

Quite a list there, well done! I have only read The Martian by Andy Weir and his next book is on my wishlist. Good choice.
Hope you give the next Bridgerton book a shot after that 1 star rating. (I think it was a 3 for me, definitely not my favorite in the series…) The next one is my favorite!
Oh, I’m definitely not giving up on Bridgerton! I’m really excited about the next one, and am looking forward to diving in. Hopefully soon! Historical romances haven’t been calling to me as much lately, and I’m hoping that changes!
I sadly only read 6 new to me authors who I enjoyed last year. There may have been another but I didn’t enjoy the book sadly. I’d say I’d like to read 10 new to me authors this year but I also want to try to read as many TBR books as I can, so who knows! Lol.

His books are so much fun! Have you read Artemis? I’ve been wanting to, but I hear it’s not nearly as good as his others so I’ve been a bit scared.
I haven’t because I’ve heard the same thing. I am curious so maybe someday.

Oh yes, I’d love a sequel to Project Hail Mary! Have you read Any Weir’s Artemis? I’ve heard it’s not as good as his other two, but I want to read more of his work! I’m still hungover from PHM. lol.

So glad Project Hail Mary was as good and maybe even better than The Martian, because after Artemis, I was almost ready to give up on the author!
For me, the end of PHM does call for a sequel!
That’s good to know. How sad that Artemis just didn’t cut it! You’re definitely not the only person I know who has felt that way. I just read your review, and I can’t imagine reading more technical info than in The Martian! That one was very heavy on the science. I agree with you that Project Hail Mary was even better than The Martian. I’m so excited that it’s becoming a movie! That should be fun, although I bet the book will still be better. lol.
I read a lot of new authors last year and will probably end up reading a lot less new to me authors this year because I hope to focus more on my TBR shelves (physical and virtual). Have a great week.
I’ve been looking over my TBR shelves lately, too, and would really love to start tackling my physical shelves so I know if I can donate any. I need more shelf space, and I’ve had unread books sitting on my shelves for over 10 years! It’s definitely time for me to get on those. Good luck tackling yours!
I’m glad you discovered so many new authors to love! I’m a huge fan of Julia Quinn, and Eloisa James is good, too. I need to go back and finish Brigid Kemmerer’s Cursebreaker series. I also loved both of Andy Weir’s books (especially Rocky!) And C.L. Wilson has been on my TBR list for ages; I should really make time to read The Winter King this year.
I need to read more Eloisa James. I really liked her book. I highly recommend finishing the Cursebreaker series! I really enjoyed it. And yes, The Winter King is one of my favorite books I read last year. I hope you love it!
