I’ve said it once and will say it at least a thousand more times in my life: I’m a mood reader. I read what I want, when I want or I will not be happy. It’s just a fact, and I started enjoying book blogging much more when I allowed myself to do this. I host 4 seasonal TBR posts a year and I rarely stick to them. lol. A lot of my old TBR lists contain books I still haven’t read, but don’t really want to read anymore. So I’m not even going to cover those. I’m going to share 10 of the books I am still really, really excited to read! And I’m not including anything from lists I’ve written this year because that’s just not fair. lol.

2. Survive the Night by Riley Sager (featured on my summer 2021 to-read list)
3. Must Love Cowboys by Carly Bloom (featured on my spring 2021 to-read list)
4. A Place in the Sun by R.S. Grey (featured on my spring 2021 to-read list)
5. The Trouble with Tabbies by A.G. Henley (featured on my winter 2020-2021 to-read list)
6. The Woman in the Mirror by Rebecca James (featured on my fall 2020 to-read list)
7. Paris Is Always a Good Idea by Jenn McKinlay (featured on my summer 2020 to-read list)
8. The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern (featured on my winter 2019-2020 to-read list)
9. A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet (featured on my winter 2017-2018 to-read list)
10. Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins (featured on my summer 2015 to-read list)
Which ones should I prioritize? Which ones should I forget about?
I still want to read Isla. Have to complete the trilogy there. :) Also pretty sure I still own ‘Paris is Always a good Idea.’ Seems like it could be a fun read.
I’m mostly not familiar with the books or authors so, no input on that. I’ve seen The Starless Sea around for a while and decided long ago it wouldn’t be for me after hearing remarks from a couple friends. Who actually liked it. But when they described it to me, it’s not my kind of book. Hope you get to it soon though and hope you’ll tell us what you think.
I haven’t read any of these but I vote for Isla since it’s been on your list the longest. My TBR goes all the way back to 2007 😂
I find that my desire to read particular books depends on a lot of timing issues. If I don’t read a book soon after I place it on my TBR it will likely get shoved to the side by something else. My TTT list
The Starless Sea and A Promise of Fire almost made it to my top 10 this week too. There are so many books on my seasonal TBRs I still haven’t read, because I always add way too many books to my TBR…

SURVIVE THE NIGHT is the one book from last year’s seasonal TBR lists that I DID manage to read. Ha ha. I still really enjoy making seasonal TBR lists, even if I rarely actually read the books I list on them.

I have the Riley Sager book on my TBR, but that’s the only one.
I just went back two seasons myself as I was already over 10 when I hit those! Lol! Guess I should’ve gone wayyy back to the beginning to see what I still need to read! Lol.

I loved The Starless Sea, it was one of my favorite books of last year. It’s not a book for everyone, but if you like beautifully written, atmospherical books that are a bit nonsensical, i would totally recommend it.
Interesting topic, as always, though I still found a twist. LOL
I am looking forward to getting back to just mood reading. I have slowly been cutting back on review requests and hope to continue to do that (although at times it’s hard!). Usually, when I make a list like this I do stick to it, but did come up with 10 I still hadn’t read yet.
Survive the Night is on my eventual list as well!
I really enjoyed The Starless Sea, but it’s not a book for everyone. Maybe check some reviews to see if it sounds like your kind of book?
