Welcome to another TTT! This week’s topic is about the new authors I discovered in 2022. I really love finding new authors whose books I enjoy, especially if they have a large backlist. I discovered more than 10 new-to-me authors last year, so today I’m sharing my top ten favorites and the books of theirs I read last year.

Which new-to-you authors did you discover last year?
Great list! I’ve had Kate Quinn on my TBR for a while now. Maybe this will be the year I finally discover her writing.
Thank you! I really want to read more Kate Quinn after listening to The Huntress. It was so good, and I’ve heard amazing things about her other books as well! I hope you enjoy her books when you get the chance!

Really want to read Sarah’s at some point. They just seem as though they’d be fun and charming. :)
I’ve still only read The Cheat Sheet by Sarah, but I’ve got a couple other titles of her I received for review that I hope to get to soon! Charming is such a good word to describe her stories. :)

YES! I love her books so much! Luckily I’ve still got lots more of hers to read, and hopefully she publishes something else again soon! I haven’t heard anything about what she’s up to lately.
I’ve read the first book in The Bridge Kingdom too, but in the end of 2021 so doesn’t count :)

That was such a bingeworthy series for me last year, I read them all back to back to back. lol. Can’t wait for the next book!
Ooh nice! Those are mainly new to me ones! I did read Jensen’s first YA trilogy…but it ended it such a way I felt sour about the series as a whole. I still want to read this adult series of hers though and is already in my TBR pile!

Are you talking about Jensen’s The Malediction Trilogy? The Bridge Kingdom left me hungover enough that I’ve been considering reading this trilogy while I wait for her to release more Bridge Kingdom books, so now I’m curious what made it turn sour for you. Would you mind telling me about it? If you don’t want to post spoilers, maybe DM me on Twitter? For some reason wasn’t following you there ( I thought I was), but I just fixed that!

This is one of my favorite recurring TTT prompts! :D Your list looks great. One my own favorite author discoveries in 2022 was Tansy Rayner Roberts. I’ve read so many of her fantasy romance novellas in a very short time!
It’s one of my favorites, too! I love doing a bunch of “looking back” topics every January. They’re so much fun. :)
I love fantasy, so you have me super interested in Tansy Rayner Roberts. Where should I begin with her books? It looks like she has so many!
I started with her novella Tea & Sympathetic Magic. It’s the first in the Teacup Magic series (all novellas). It got me started on a “cozy fantasy romance” kick last year, which I loved!

You’re right! I’ve heard of a couple authors from your list, but haven’t read any books of theirs. I’ll have to go look at some of your recommendations. :) I always love jumping outside my comfort zone!

Yes, I binged the entire series. What’s out so far at least. I thought the second two were even better than the first. I cannot wait for the fourth book to be released!

Happy TTT, Susan! I think The Huntress was a great place to start, but now I need to jump on all her others, too! Her writing style is so fluid, and she writes great descriptions and characters. Maybe 2023 will be the year for you and Kate!

I HIGHLY recommend that you do! I’ve been seeing her books all over the place for years, and I finally picked one up and all of a sudden I realized I had read 18 of them. LOL.
