Welcome to another TTT! This week’s topic is genre freebie, which means you get to pick a genre and build a list around it. I’ve talked about romantic suspense and historical fiction in previous posts like this one, so today I thought I’d talk about the romantasy (romantic fantasy) genre! I’ve fallen in love with this genre over the years, but good ones are hard to find (I’ve DNFed quite a few)! I’m hoping maybe some of you have recommendations for me based on the ones I’ve enjoyed and the ones I think I’ll like! I’m purposely not including YA fantasy (unless they’re steamy) because I like the spice!
Romantasy Books I’ve Enjoyed

A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas
(I don’t consider this series to be YA, even though one could argue that it is.)
The Winter King by C.L. Wilson
The Bridge Kingdom by Danielle L. Jensen
Ledge by Stacey McEwan
Romantasy Books on my To-Read List

A Promise of Fire by Amanda Bouchet
Winter of Ice and Iron by Rachel Neumeier
Throne of the Fallen by Kerri Maniscalco
The Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent
Of Earth and Flame by Elayna R. Gallea
The North Wind by Alexandria Warwick

I enjoyed the Amanda Bouchet book and gave it many stars! Perhaps Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros might not be as spicy but… it has some. Those dragons! Anyway its my fave fantasy for this year.
I’ve got a hold on The Fourth Wing at my library! I’ve still got about 11 weeks until it’s available, and it’s kind of killing me. LOL
I really love Gina L. Maxwell’s The Dark King – it’s her first foray into romantasy but you seriously can’t tell at all!
WOW I just looked The Dark King up, and it sounds amazing! Adding it my my list! Thank you for the rec. :)
Thanks so much, as always, for putting this together.
Interesting list. I like the “Romantasy” mashup idea.
My sister is about to start the ACOTAR series or at least the first one. I told her though it was first marketed as YA, it’s really more upper YA. But I think the first book was pretty tame in that area at least! I still need to read The Bridge Kingdom and I can’t wait for Throne of the Fallen either! Great picks!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

ACOTAR is my all time favorite!

Freebies are often fun though sometimes I just don’t have an idea. This time, I chose Scandinavian literature and hope that will be alright as a “genre”.
Thanks for your great page.
I am not a huge fantasy reader, but I did read Come Back to Me by Jody Hedlund, and it was fantastic. It has some spice, but still clean. I am not sure if it would have your preferred level of spice. Have a great week!
Those fantasies look fun. I hope you get to the ones you haven’t read yet and love them.
I hope you find some more romantsy books to enjoy! I’ve really liked T. Kingfisher’s Paladin series, and I would class those as romantsies. However, I haven’t read any of the books on your list so I can’t say whether the Paladin books are at all similar to the ones you’ve listed.
Bridge Kingdom is one I desperately need to get to! I have heard so many amazing things. I just know you are going to love The Serpent and the Wings of Night. It lives up to the hype!
I enjoyed A Court of Thorns and Roses and wouldn’t mind reading books from that genre. It’s not one that I have particularly looked out for before so I will have to add it to my list!
Have a great weekend!
I enjoy romantic fantasy, but I haven’t read any of these! I’ll definitely have to check them out! Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
I don’t have any suggestions, but these all look great! Enjoy! :-)
I don’t really read romance or fantasy, so I’m no help at all! I’m glad you’ve found some romantasy books you like. Hopefully, other fans will give you some good recs today.
Happy TTT!

Romantasy…I’ve genuinely never heard that word before. It’s not a genre I gravitate to…would the Dragons of Pern by Anne McCaffrey count? Those were super good books! I’m definitely intrigued by your list this week.
I also choose fantasy romance as the genre choice for this week’s topic too, I listed some of the fantasy romance books on my tbr. I really liked ACOTAR, The Bridge Kingdom and The Serpent and the Wings of Night!
