Top Ten Secondary & Minor Characters Who Deserve Their Own Book

Welcome to another TTT! This week’s topic shows some love to the secondary and/or minor book characters. Who would you love to see more of and would love to see them get their own book? If anyone here actually does have their own book that I’m unaware of, or if one is in the works please tell me! This topic was a little tricky, but fun for me because it made me really think!

1. Rhiannon from Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
She’s such a good friend to Violet, and I’d love to learn more about her journey through her time at Basgiath War College and her bond with her dragon. Plus, she could use a good love story.

2. Khamsin’s young male assistant from The Winter King by C.L. Wilson
I cannot for the life of me remember this kid’s name, but he was so cute and so brave. I want him to grow up and get a book where he falls in love.

3. Grandpa Paul from You, With a View by Jessica Joyce
I loved this grandpa so much and I’d love a book set back in time when he fell in love with Noelle’s grandma.

4. Naomi’s mother in law, Deborah Rose, from You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle
This woman. I both hate and love her, and I want her origin story.

5. Easton’s twin sister from the Moose Springs, Alaska series by Sarah Morgenthaler
I actually think the fourth book is going to be hers… but I don’t know for sure so here we go.

6. Lucien from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
I think I’m beginning to see a trend here… I’m a fan of snarky, swoony guys. I loved Lucien! He’s got the best sense of humor, and he’s so loyal. I’d love it if he was the start of his own book.

7. Nathan’s teammates from The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams
I know that The Rule Book will give us Derek’s love story, but I want a book for every single one of Nathan’s teammates.

8. Sylvie’s best friend, Nari, from Christmas At Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar
She’s a travel blogger! I want to go on some adventures with her.

9. Birdie’s Aunt Mona from Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett
Can we please have an adult romance for her?? She is mid-thirties, an artist, lives in an old theater that she has re-purposed as an art studio, and cosplays every day. She sews intricate costumes inspired by people in history and pop culture and has a huge collection of wigs, not to mention an entire rainbow of make-up to select from to complete her daily looks.

10. Gale Hawthorne from The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins
I might be the only person who is on team Gale… I’m sorry, but I really do not like Peeta. At all. And I wanted Gale to find love!!!! So he needs his own book and his own love story.

Which secondary or minor characters do you hope get their own book someday?

    Ooo, Gale would be a cool character to learn more about! And maybe now that Suzanne Collins is revisiting the Hunger Games world… maybe that would be a someday possibility. :)

    Rhiannon was definitely an interesting character! I honestly wasn’t expecting her to become a good friend after Violet helped her out. I guess since the college itself seems so cutthroat I wasn’t sure she’d find anyone trustworthy there! Lucien would be a great character to have more about too! I actually chose Elain myself! I actually root for Elain and Lucien to get together! Lol. Great picks!

      Also, we both included You, with a View (just in different ways)! I would love Grandpa Paul’s story with Noelle’s grandma, even though we know they don’t end up together. It would be interesting, though!
