Top Ten Tuesday is hosted over at the other blog I write for, The Broke and the Bookish.
What a fun topic for this week! I have always been a huge fan of names. Growing up, I wanted to have the name Kelly because I loved Kelly on Saved by the Bell. My desire for a new name changed every time I read a book or watched a TV show or movie with a character I liked it. I love names, especially unusual or unique ones! These are some of my favorite unusual names from books I’ve read.
It was not until I started making my graphics that I realized these are all male names! I wonder if that has something to do with it… Bahaha. Anyway, let me know which names you picked!

Great picks! I loved Lola and totally forgot about Chaol. Here are my picks.
I really like the unusual names you mentioned. Great layout for the post, too!
Cute name tag graphic!!! Cricket made my list too. I didn’t like his name at first but then it ended up growing on me in a big way. I was SO close to putting Dash on my list… it is a cool name. I didn’t know there was a character named Basil in Perfect Ruin. I think that is growing on me too :) Cool list!
My TTT
Omg, they are all male names haha!!!
I forgot about Toraf! I really do like his name, and even Galin too.
I love the Darkling — And Roar! Roar was on my list as well :)
Excellent choices!!
Dash is an adorable name. Great list!
Great list! I liked that you picked all guys! Although I had a classmate in 6th grade named Lindene who tried to change her name to Cricket. Of course, we all still called her Lindene! I would have tried to change my name, too, I think…lol
Wow, you picked some great names, i haven’t even heard of some of them as names before :)
My Top Ten Tuesday
Great list! I love Roar so so much and I love that The Darkling really is just a title haha.
Great list, the name Zen is really nice. Four also made my list, he will always be Four to me. I also really loved Peeta but my list is Hunger Games free for some bizarre reason. My STS.
Really like this list and the look of it. You did a great job.
Basil is on my list too! I love saying it. Baz-il. Bazzz-illll. I don’t think I would like the name Cricket if it wasn’t for Cricket Bell and his adorableness.
I think one of the best parts of being an author is being able to give characters unusual names that wouldn’t fly with actual people.
Unusual names are the best!
Love your list!

These are some interesting names. Four is a really great nickname. So mysterious. Great list!
Yes and yes. I adore Roar and the Darkling. They are unusual names, but you still have to love them <3
Interesting names; not a fan of Cricket
I love the names Cricket and Basil! So unusual, but cool.
Thanks for the post!
I can’t believe I forgot THE DARKLING. Perfect title for him. I love that he has no name. I wonder if we’ll ever find out if he has an actual name. Great list!
I wanted to do this meme, but didn’t get it done. I’ve heard the name Cricket on my favorite Soap Opera. And think of Katniss from the Hunger Games, and Rue. Great post! Wish I’d had time to do this too.
