Welcome to another TTT! This week’s topic is a fun one, unread books on my shelves I still want to read. I’m hoping some of you will have great things to say about the books on my list! My to-read list is lifetimes long. I will never get through everything I hope to read, but here are ten books on my shelves that I haven’t read yet and still really want to! I’ve chosen to feature titles that have been on my to-read list for 10 years or more and I’m including the date I shelved them, just for fun!

3. Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella (shelved on October 15, 2011)
4. Victoria and the Rogue by Meg Cabot (bought in 2004)
5. Just Like Heaven by Julia Quinn (shelved June 3, 2012)
6. Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers (bought September 13, 2012)
7. The Perfect Lie by Emily Barr (shelved March 30, 2013)
8. Goddess of the Hunt by Tessa Dare (shelved July 5, 2013)
9. Virgin River by Robyn Carr (shelved October 6, 2013)
10. The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas (shelved February 11, 2014)
Have you read any of these? Which should I prioritize?
I think I have Virgin River on my shelf but haven’t ever read the book. The show is entertaining though. :) Hope you’re able to read these and you enjoy them all, Jana!
Can you keep a Secret? is an excellent book. It was actually the book that made me consider reading something other than Mystery or Fantasy!

My mom LOVES the Virgin River book series. Like, it’s her favorite. I’ve been afraid to read them because I don’t want to not love them as much as she does! It’d make her sad! lol.
The Secret History of the Pink Carnation is so fun! She’s got such a witty writing voice
I keep hearing this! I don’t know why I’m taking so long. It’s probably because my copy is a mass market paperback and my eyes are not what they used to be. lol. My kindle has spoiled me!

I should’ve gone further back myself. I have ones that are 10+ years old…but I was going with the “I want to read them soon” part of it all! I mean I still want to read those 10+ years ones, but I was trying to think of ones I was more likely to pick up this year…hopefully. Who knows. Lol. I may pick a 10+ year one soon just to deviate!

I actually set out to list the ones I was still SUPER excited about and once I was done writing it all up I realized I’d had all of them for over 10 years! So I changed the title of my post! Such a fun coincidence. That just goes to show how massive my TBR is. lol. But now that I’ve said I want to read them, the mood reader curse will set in and they’ll sit on my shelf for another 10 years. LOL.
Oh Mary Poppins would be such a fun read! I should probably add that to my own list. Lol.
I love the Disney movie, and while I know the books are very different, I still want to read them! They have touched so many lives!
I’ve only read Can You Keep a Secret? and the rest I barely heard of. Personally, I would have erased/unhauled books I got in 2004 and still haven’t read LOL.

I unhaul books allllll the time to make room for new ones and because my tastes change, so I get it! lol. I think the only reason this book I bought in 2004 is still sitting on my shelf is because it’s part of a now out-of-print historical romance series for teens that I got when I was in high school. The ones I read, I LOVED, but this one sneaked away from me and I missed it! I can’t separate the series, so here it sits! And I think I need to read it ASAP because I’m in need of a little nostalgia. lol.
I read Mary Poppins a few years ago and loved it. It is different from the Disney movie, but an excellent story. That’s my recommendation to read first.
I’m super excited about Mary Poppins. And the fact that it’s different from the movie is a selling point because that means there’s still surprises in store! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
I read the first two Virgin River books and still have the rest of the series on my TBR. I really did love the first two. Someday I will get back to it.
My mom loves the series, too, so I think my biggest hang-up is that I don’t want to not love something she loves so much! They’re her favorite books! Oh well, I guess I need to get brave. lol.

I have not read any of these, although I have watched the first couple of seasons of Virgin River. I have thought about reading the books, but I liked the show, and didn’t want to see how they differ, LOL! Have a great week!
My mom LOVES the books. It’s her favorite series ever. And she also loves the show and has re-watched it multiple times. So even though they’re pretty different from each other (according to my mom), we both think you’re safe to give them a try!
You are so lucky!! To read the REAL Mary Poppins for the first time! I’d love to be able to read that one again for the first time! I have my Mom’s 1930s edition.

I loved Virgin River, and Mary Poppins was a childhood favorite (the books as well as the movie); I have reread each of them several times. I enjoyed Just Like Heaven, but haven’t reread it, so I must not have loved it. I’d like to read the Lauren Willig series one day, as well as the Tessa Dare book and The Forgotten Garden.
My mom also loves Virgin River, so I need to read that soon. Mary Poppins is also getting a lot of votes here in the comments this week! I love the movie so much, and I’m excited to see how the books differ and if they give me the same warm, fuzzy feelings of nostalgia. I hope we both get to everything on our TBRs one day! Or, at least the very best books on our lists!
I haven’t read any of these so I’m no help with motivating you to read any of them, but I love Tessa Dare and Sherry Thomas as authors and I’d prioritize their books!
I love Tessa Dare, too! Her Spindle Cove series is one of my favorites, as well as her Castles Ever After series and Girl Meets Duke. I can’t wait for the next book in that series, and I hope it happens someday! Since both she and Lisa Kleypas have been quiet for a while, I’m struggling to find new historical romances to be excited about! I’ve never read a Sherry Thomas book, so that needs to happen soon. I own a bunch of her Lady Sherlock books, too. Thanks for visiting!
TWENTY YEARS??* Now even my curiosity about that book is piqued, so I vote that one ASAP. I wanna know how Meg Cabot handles mass market romance But For Teens and only you can tell me, because I will never spot that book in the wild even if it’s out there. (Bonus: it’s probably one of your quicker reads! See also, my current strategy for reading through my own mountain piles)
*I say this like I don’t know that if I looked closely, I’m sure I’d find some that old too. I’m currently working on one I got in the summer of 2006…
Bahaha when I typed out that I bought that one in 2004, it didn’t even register that it’s been 20 years!! I bought that as a sophomore in high school! I feel old now. LOL. I agree, I should prioritize this one for sure. It’s part of the Avon True Romance for Teens series, of which I own all the books, and really loved them! There were a few I didn’t get to, so maybe the time has come. lol. I’m a little scared they won’t do for me what they did when I was a teen!
I love Kate Morton, so I definitely recommend THE FORGOTTEN GARDEN. I also liked VIRGIN RIVER and MARY POPPINS. I hope you enjoy all these when you read them!
