Today’s topic is a fun one, submitted by Joanne @ Portobello Book Blog: Books with Honorifics in the title. “…an honorific is a form of address conveying esteem, courtesy or respect. These can be titles prefixing a person’s name, e.g.: Mr., Mrs., Miss, Ms., Mx., Sir, Dame, Dr., Cllr, Lady, or Lord, or other titles or positions that can appear as a form of address without the person’s name, as in Mr. President, General, Captain, Father, Doctor, or Earl.” For more info, click here. I have a lot of fun with topics like these because it feels like a scavenger hunt. It’s also a fun way to see what books I own, because there are a LOT. I decided to challenge myself further by not repeating any honorifics, and I actually found two new books to add to my TBR in the process of hunting!
Here are some fun facts about my Goodreads! I have shelved 33 books with “Mr.” in the title, 5 books with “Mrs.” in the title, and 16 books with “Miss” in the title. Who knew?

This was a fun topic. Thanks to Goodreads, I was able to find the books on my shelves. I had no idea I had so many with titles in them.
I also own Miss Newbury’s List but haven’t read it yet! And, I agree it was a scavenger hunt!
I wanted to find all titles but didn’t find enough different ones. Still, I found some great books for my list.

I had To Sir With Love on my list today as well and I’ve also read Lady Derring and I had so much fun with both books. I almost managed to do a list without repeating honorifics but the “Lady’s” got me! 🤭

Nice job on not repeating any. I had to repeat a few to get ten. Historical romance (a genre I rarely read) definitely seems to lend itself most to titles with honorifics in them.

Totally agree with your “scavenger hunt” comment. I almost put Miss Newbury’s List on my list today as well! It’s a very sweet historical romance, almost reads like YA because the characters are only just out of that age group. I do recommend it.
