These can be super popular books you’re surprised you haven’t read yet, books that have been on you to-read list forever, review copies you’ve been sitting on for a decade (*ahem* this is not something I’ve ever done), books you were so excited to get your hands on and haven’t read yet, etc. Maybe we can help motivate each other to prioritize some of these books!
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
I love retellings of this story, and I love the BBC miniseries so I can’t believe I’ve never read this!
Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase
Every time I look for popular historical romance novels, this one tops the charts. I need to read it!
An Extraordinary Union by Alyssa Cole
I’ve heard that this book is phenomenal and also tackles a super important, less written about time period: the American Civil War.
The Luckiest Lady in London by Sherry Thomas
Everyone I know whose read this has LOVED it.
The Ornithologist’s Field Guide to Love by India Holton
I keep meaning to read this and never do for some reason! It sounds whimsical and cozy!
Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett
My friends tell me this is A MUST.
The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien
I’m honestly not sure if I’ll ever get to this one because it’s a bit out of my comfort zone, but I really like the movies and I feel major FOMO.
A Code Of Love by Jacki Delecki
This has been on my to-read list for a verrrry long time.
The Ever King by L.J. Andrews
Another one of those FOMO, everyone I know loves this kind of books!
The Romance Revival by Christina Lauren
This one is a silly pick because it’s not even out yet for a month and a half, but I got a review copy of this 6 months ago and I am very surprised I haven’t read it yet because CLo is my favorite!

I read Pride and Prejudice at school. I’m glad that I did. I enjoyed analysing it and working on it. I’ve also read all the Emily Wilde series. I recommend it!
I have Lord of the Rings on my list. I’ve only read The Hobbit 😂 I’ve seen all the films though.

I have Emily Wilde’s Encyclopedia of Fairies on my TBR list – but it is a bit out of my comfort zone, so I don’t know when I’ll get to it.
I’ve fallen in love with the cozy fantasy genre lately, so maybe now’s the time for me to try the Emily Wilde books! I’ll make sure to post my thoughts here!

I’d like to read Emma, too. I’m wondering if listening to these on audio might make them easier for me to get excited about. If I can find a good narrator, it’d be like watching the films again!
I STILL need to read Emily Wilde as well! And The Ever King! That one sounded good so I picked that one up and its second book too! That B&N preorder sale always does damage to me! Lol. Truly I could list every book on my TBR pile and they’d fit this category! Lol.

I’m definitely a mood reader, so that’s probably why I haven’t read P&P yet. I’m a bit intimidated. lol.
I took this to mean books that are popular that you haven’t read…I should have done this topic. I have a lot of books on my shelves that I can’t believe I haven’t read yet (insert face palm). I hope you do enjoy these once you read them.
I make topics as vague as I can so people can interpret them how they’d like, so your interpretation would have been fine! Going in a different direction is ok, too, though! I actually featured super popular books last time I did this topic a few years ago, so I figured I’d switch it up this time. There’s soooo many books I want to read that I know I’ll never get to them all!
Yes, the struggle is real, LOL! You do great with the topics (I would not want to come up with them!), so no criticism here. I just felt like I had not understood currently, and could have totally done this topic, LOL!
I can’t believe you’ve never read Pride and Prejudice – you must, it’s wonderful! I re-read it last year and enjoyed it immensely again.
I can’t believe I haven’t read it either!! I even have the pretty Barnes & Noble leather bound copy, so I need to read it soon!
I haven’t read Emily Wilde either, despite loving the genre! Someday…

I’ve been wondering if I should host it again this year or take a year off! Sign-ups were down last year, so I worry people are getting tired of it. Would you be interested in participating? I just sent out a little survey to past participants to gauge interest. I’d love to do it, I just want to make sure there’s enough people interested so it’s as fun as it’s always been!
Hi Jana, I loved your Top Ten Tuesday post! This was such an interesting topic because we all have famous books on our TBR that we’ve never gotten around to reading. I highly recommend Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. If you find it difficult to get into the classic novel, there’s an excellent YouTube web series based on the story called The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Hi Susan! Thank you! Yes, I’ve watched The Lizzie Bennet Diaries! It’s such a fun series! I love the story of P&P… the BBC version, the Keira Knightley version, various modern and historical retellings, etc. Pretty much the only version I haven’t consumed is the original book!
