Top Ten Christmas Books I Hope to Read In December 2019

Just few days ago I kicked off my annual Bookish Little Christmas event, so I’m keeping things festive with a holiday reads TTT! Of course, you don’t have to focus on holiday books for this prompt. These are just the books you love to read during the holiday season (and if you don’t celebrate the holidays, pick your favorite books to read during winter). I know some people love to re-read favorites, like Harry Potter or Pride & Prejudice. I’m not much of a re-reader, and I love Christmas romance novels… so those are what I’m planning on reading this month!

If you need some ideas or have no idea where to start with holiday books, I’ve got you. Check out my 2019 Christmas book releases post that went live a few days ago (or my posts from 2018 or 2017). I’ve also got a shelf on Goodreads full of over 500 Christmas books that sound good to me!

2019 Christmas Songs Book Tag

The Christmas Songs Book Tag has become a pretty popular feature on my blog each year as part of A Bookish Little Christmas! I created this tag in 2015 and bring it back each year for people to participate in. Because I do this every year, I am limiting my choices to books I’ve read in 2019. You can do whatever you would like. :)

1. “All I Want for Christmas Is You”: Favorite bookish couple.
Olive and Ethan from The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren.

2. “I’ll Be Home for Christmas”: Name a book where a character is away from home (school, vacation, etc.).
The Gem Thief by Sian Ann Bessey. It takes place on a luxury cruise around the Mediterranean!

3. “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”: Name your favorite “little” book (children’s book, short story, novella, etc.).
Lord Dashwood Missed Out by Tessa Dare was SO GOOD, and is a novella in the Spindle Cove series.

4. “Santa Claus is Coming to Town“: What book(s) do you hope Santa brings you this year?
Since Santa can do anything, I’d really love the new Riley Sager book that’s coming out in May. It’s called Home Before Dark, and sounds perfect! But he could also bring me The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern or Ashley Elston’s cute new Christmas YA, 10 Blind Dates.

5. “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”: Which book turned your nose red (made you cry)?
84 Charing Cross Road by Helene Hanff.

6. “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”: Your favorite book/kind of book to read during the holidays.
I think it goes without saying that I love Christmas books! At this point (while I’m writing this post), I’m curently reading my first one: A Cowboy for Christmas by Sara Richardson. It’s a fun fauxmance, and I’m enjoying it!

7. “We Three Kings”: Your favorite trilogy.
I’m really surprised to say that I’ve actually read two trilogies this year! This never happens, and I usually leave this questions unanswered. My favorite of the two was the de Vincent series by Jennifer Armentrout. I read them one right after the other.

8. “Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow”: A character you would love to be snowed in with.
Gabriel Duke from The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare because he’s pretty much the best and loves animals.

9. “Last Christmas”: A book that seriously let you down.
I was excited to read Not If I Save You First by Ally Carter, but it was terrible. I’m not sure if it was the audiobook narrator that made me hate it, or if it was the writing. “A chill that had nothing to do with the cold” was mentioned way too many times and drove me insane, so perhaps I just hated everything. lol.

10. “White Christmas”: An upcoming release you’re dreaming about.
Umm… I already mentioned Home Before Dark… So what else? The Bride Bet by Tessa Dare!

This week is Thanksgiving in the USA, and I had lofty goals for an awesome Thanksgiving TTT… but I’m sick in bed with the flu and completely forgot today was TTT day. And honestly, I’m too sick to think of anything right now anyway. So, I’ll just be posting the link-up this week. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. And if you’re the praying sort, please say a prayer for me that I’ll be well in time to enjoy the day with my family and not stay quarantined to protect them from catching my illness. Thank you!
