This week I want to know which books have been hanging out on your TBR the longest, yet you still haven’t read them. My tastes tend to change over the years and I’ve removed many books from my TBR that I lost interest in. But there are some that have hung in there for 5-10 years and I just haven’t read them yet even though I still really want to. Those are the books I’m going to share with you today!
A Thousand Days In Venice by Marlena de Blasi (VENICE, guys!!)
The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton (Sounds amazing!)
The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullogh (My mom loves this!!)
Remember Me? by Sophie Kinsella (Sophie!!)
Spirited Away by Cindy Miles (Trime travel romance. YES!)
Beauty by Robin McKinley (B&B retelling!!)
Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale (Sounds great!)
Must’ve Done Something Good by Cheryl Cory (MC loves The Sound of Music like me!)
360 Degrees Longitude: One Family’s Journey Around the World by John Higham (Travel memoir!)
Juliet by Anne Fortier (Sounds wonderful!)
Which books do I need to read ASAP? Which would I be better off removing from my TBR forever? Have you been wanting to read any of these?

I read Can You Remember Me and Beauty both when they came out…. I think I remember liking them, but I just can’t remember anymore! Robin Mckinley and Sophie Kinsella were by far two of my fave authors 10? years ago…. this is making me want to go re-read the Shopaholic series :)
I’ve never read a Sophie Kinsella book (WHY I DON’T KNOW because contemporary!!), but they look adorable. Also, I do so like the ‘Shopaholic’ movie. I’ve seen good things about “Beauty,” too!!

I think I have Juliet here too. The Thorn Birds was wonderful–a bit heavy on description, but I loved it. Did you ever see the TV mini-series?
I haven’t heard of ANY of these! *gasp*

Time travel romance? Oooh, I wonder if it’s anything as good as The Time Traveller’s Wife.
Book of a Thousand Days could’ve been in my list, too – I have no idea how long it’s been in my TBR! I love Shannon Hale though, so I definitely will get to it one day :D
I haven’t read any of these, but I know my mom read and loved The Thorn Birds many years ago as well. And, even though she definitely doesn’t write my “typical” kind of books, I’ve really enjoyed everything I’ve ever read by Sophie Kinsella … So Remember Me? is probably worth reading. (Now I need to check to see if that one is on my “To Read” list!)
I really liked Remember Me. I just adore Kinsella (reading the new one as we speak), and this one was so fun and was sort of a redemption story.

I thought I already read Beauty but when I checked Goodreads for its synopsis, it turned out I was thinking of a different book. Lol. :) :) ANyway, now I wanna read it too. :)
I’ve read The Forgotten Garden but it was quite a while ago and I’ll be honest I can’t remember much about it now. However, Goodreads tells me I gave it three stars.
I read The Thorn Birds a long, long time ago when it first came out. At the time, I loved it. Not sure how it would be now. The Forgotten Garden was great! I love the way Kate Morton tells a story. It’s long, but was a very worthwhile tale.

Ooh nice! New to me ones here! I know I read Beauty at some point, but it’s been years! I can’t even remember how I felt about it! Lol! hope you get around to reading these someday!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

I read it forever ago, but I loved The Thorn Birds. Have you seen the mini-series?
I forgot all about The Thorn Birds. My mom was into that one, too. :)

I have The Forgotten Garden on my bookshelf too and have yet to read it. My daughter and I LOVED Book of a Thousand Days. I also enjoyed Juliet. I read The Thorn Birds eons ago when it was all the rage. The movie was good too. And I just added A Thousand Days In Venice to my TBR list. I can’t resist books set in Italy!!
I’ve read “The Thorn Birds”, “The Book of A Thousand Days” and “The Forgotten Garden” and really enjoyed all of them.
“360 Degrees Longitude” sounds fascinating! I love travelogues and am always on the look-out for more. Oh!! Could a future TTT-topic be top ten travelogues? That would be a great way to add more books to my to-read list :-)

I haven’t read any of the books on your list either! Beauty and Juliet sound like books I’d enjoy though!
I read ‘Beauty’ by Robin McKinley, it’s one of my favorite ‘beauty & the beast’ retelling, if you like that, you might try ‘Rose Daughter’, another ‘beauty & the beast’ retelling by McKinley also, which is another favorite of mine.
I haven’t the other’s on your list but I have read reviews for ‘Book of a thousand days’ and it sounds, well, not quite good, there seems to be elements that I really hate so much that it puts me off but there seems to be a lot of people liking it, so I don’t know.
have a lovely day.

Definitely read The Forgotten Garden – I love Kate Morton’s books so much!
I haven’t read any of those, but Beauty is on my TBR list as well. I’ve always wanted to read Kate Morton. I have a couple of her books on my TBR but they are so long! Hope you get the chance to tackle your list!

OMG, you really need to read The Forgotten Garden, FABULOUS! The book that introduced me to Kate Morton, then I read all her other books. Actually if you listen to audiobooks, this one is fantastic
So many books! The only one I’ve read is The Forgotten Garden and I really enjoyed it. I hope you get a chance to read it soon.

Beauty is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES!
I was in high school when the Thorn Birds was published. I devoured it. I still love it and still love the tv version. So much in that book! But I’ve always been a sucker for true older man, younger woman romance (not Lolita type) Today that’s what I write. Love, love, love that book!
I’ve had one in my pile for 30 years. Yep, 3-0! Out of your ancient tbr pile here, I would say read Beauty by McKinley not only because it’s the only one I’ve read but because it is lovely :)

I read The Thorn Birds as a kid, but I don’t remember much about it. Most of what I do is from the miniseries.

Omg I just realized I also haven’t read Sophie’s Remember Me when I saw your list! xD Hope you’ll read them all this year!
I had to laugh at your comment on The Thorm Birds because my mom is the one that has been trying to get me to read that one for *years*. And it does sound interesting. But for whatever reason I just keep ignoring it and reading everything else. Plus, it’s quite an undertaking… almost 700 pages, I think. Ack!

I haven’t read any of the books you’ve listed. I read The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic by Sophie Kinsella and loved it. I need to get around to reading her other books.
I read Beauty several years ago and loved it. Book of a Thousand Days is one of my very favourites. Definitely read either of those when you’re in a fairy tale mood. The others look great!
