Welcome to another TTT! I started blogging in 2010 as a co-owner of The Broke & the Bookish, before starting That Artsy Reader Girl about a year and a half later. I have gone through a LOT of life changes, so it only makes sense that my reading life changed as well. I thought it’d be fun to share how my reading (and blogging) life has changed since I was a baby blogger 10 years ago.
1. The Broke & the Bookish shut down last year, so now I only blog here.
2. I took over hosting Top Ten Tuesday last year and Broke & Bookish Secret Santa this year!
3. I’ve actually fallen out of love with YA lit, which has me floored and kind of sad. lol.
4. So that means I’m an adult book blogger instead of a YA book blogger! Never thought I’d say that. I’ve had to kind of start over and build relationships with new publishers, but it’s been awesome.
5. I read on my Kindle WAY more often now because I’ve run out of room and the shift from physical ARCs has really shifted to digital.
6. I used to read a lot of fantasy and sci-fi, but now I gravitate towards adult contemporary romance and historical mysteries.
7. I read less than I used to.
8. It’s harder for me to fall in love with a book than it used to be, which is not a good thing at all. lol
9. I no longer feel this compulsion to get/request/accept ALL the ARCs like I used to. I just grab my most anticipated ones and don’t hoard like a did as a new blogger. I also am pickier with the books I accept for review, and have learned to not feel so guilty when I decline a review request.
So… maybe this wasn’t the most exciting topic, but I loved the idea of
having a reflection post reminiscent of a journal entry or something.
How has your reading life change recently or over time?
So funny – Haley and I both said we’ve started reading romance in the last few years as well. Maybe it’s part of growing ever so slightly older haha.
I still love YA lit, but some of them I read are a little “too whiny” (or something!). But the cuteness of books like Kasie West still enchant me. :) Also, I’m becoming more and more a fan of a solid adult rom-com. Thanks for all you do with Top Ten Tuesday and this year, Secret Santa, Jana. :)

I’ve been gravitating towards adult fiction more recently too! I’m still reading a lot of YA, but I’ve been favouring adult fic more this year. I’m interested to see what my spreadsheet stats say at the end of the year!

I think this a brilliant topic and so interesting to read what others have noticed about their reading habits. I think I shall be spending a lot of time following the links today!

Sound like you’ve had some really big changes over the years. Good on you for doing so many great things in the bookish community! I loved this prompt. In my list, I took “changes in my bookish life” to mean developing my own reading tastes, especially since in the beginning I was just reaching for whatever was popular. It was a lot of fun to do :)

Great list and congrats on 10 years of blogging! I read on my Kindle so much, too – I think I’ve read more on my Kindle than any other format this year.

Yes, we’ve seen far more digital ARCS as well.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.

It’s funny, I feel like I will always love reading the physical book most! I know the convenience of ebooks and space is becoming an issue…but yet, I can’t stop myself from adding a new physical book instead of the ebook version! Lol.
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

I’m falling out of love with YA lit, too. It’s sad.

I can relate to so many of these shifts. Somewhere in my 20s I gravitated away from fantasy and into romance, too. I also love a good historical mystery.
Those all sound like good changes! You will still find some YA interesting–don’t worry. If you haven’t read The Poet X or With the Fire on High, both by Elizabeth Acevedo, they will help you re-discover your one-time love of YA, even if they don’t recapture it’s hold on your total reading life. :)
This was a neat topic! I’ve changed a lot in my blogging habits since I was a baby blogger 12+ years ago, too.

Lots of changes here too. I don’t read nearly as much as I used to…And I am super choosy on which books I’ll actually say yes to for reviewing now.
Lots of changes here. Good to see growth over the years. https://pmprescott.blogspot.com/
Love your list – many changes I can relate to.
It’s amazing that almost everyone here has said they’re done with YA Lit because I thought it would be rare. Granted, I still enjoy a lot of YA fantasy but YA contemporaries are also just not doing it for me anymore. I read only Kasie West releases now and never bother to check out new authors much less other ones I used to read. I’m quite content with my Fantasy, Rom-Suspense, Historical Romance and Rom-Com of course.

These are so interesting to read. Some changes are drastic, while others are subtle. Thanks!
