Top Ten Authors I’m Waiting On Another Book From

Posted July 27, 2020 by Jana in Top Ten Tuesday / 21 Comments

Welcome to freebie week on TTT! I love doing these because I can look at everyone’s topics for inspiration on future weekly prompts! Today, I’ve decided to share some great authors that have new books announced (or coming out) or… I just want them to write something else for me. I’m not so great with being patient.

Sarah Morganthaler
I loved The Tourist Attraction, and am very excited for the next book in the series: Mistletoe and Mr. Right!! A Christmas book! Set in Alaska! With characters I love! Lucky for me, I just got a review copy and am starting it tonight. But I still want my pre-ordered paperback here ASAP.

Sarah Hogle
Have you heard the news!? Sarah just announced her new book, Twice Shy, and it sounds amazing! I loved You Deserve Each Other so much, and I can’t wait for this next rom-com of hers.

Jen DeLuca
I’m being REALLY selfish with this one, because I’ve already read her upcoming release (Well Played, sequel to Well Met), that comes out this fall. I’m not SO EXCITED for Well Matched, the final book in the trilogy.

Tessa Dare
Tessa has had to push back publication (to 2021…) on her two upcoming releases: The Bride Bet (Girl Meets Duke #4) and Love Letters from a Lord (Spindle Cove #5.5) because of COVID-19, which is not great for me.

Kiley Dunbar
I know she’s released two books I haven’t read yet, but Christmas at Frozen Falls was so amazing and my favorite book of 2019. I hope she writes another Christmas book. Now.

Christina Lauren
Their upcoming Christmas book, In A Holidaze, is a hugely anticipated one for me! Luckily I just got a review copy of this as well! I just need to wait… a bit… because I love reading Christmas books at, you know, Christmas time.

Riley Sager
I will pretend Home Before Dark never happened (ugh), and eagerly await the announcement of his next book!

Jennifer L. Armentrout
I want more romantic suspense like Till Death and The de Vincent trilogy… none of this other stuff she’s doing right now.

Stephenie Meyer
Give. Me. Midnight Sun. Come on, August 4th! I’m ready!!

Jenn Bennett
I need another cute contemporary romance, Jenn! Always June comes out next year and I don’t even know what it’s about, but I want it.

Which topic did you write about for today’s freebie?
Are you waiting on any releases from authors you love?

  1. I’ve only read books by one of the authors on your list, but I’ve heard of one more on the list. I ended up talking about book series on my TBR that I haven’t started yet, but really should start reading soon. Awesome post!

  2. I’m very excited for Alix E. Harrow’s next book about suffragette witches The Once and Future Witches
Haven’t read any of her stuff yet, but very excited for Andrea Stewart’s The Bone Shard Daughter coming out in sept.

  3. Of your list I have only read Stephanie Meyer, so you’ve given me some new names to check out. I was just saying to a friend that ages ago that phrase “so many books, so little time,” was funny. Now I’m realizing that’s the truth!

  4. I remember the days before social media when a visit to the bookstore let me know my favourite authors had a new release out! Whilst I love that we know in advance these days, it can lead to pressure on authors to hit deadlines, so I’m not sure if it’s a curse or blessing – especially when the book is then delayed!

Oh, this is a fantastic topic. I’ve been wanting to do something similar but I had a different idea I’ve been waiting longer to post that had to come first. I haven’t read most of these authors, but I get your excitement for more from them. Terrible luck about Tessa Dare. (and oh my goodness, can I relate to the general “none of this other stuff she’s doing right now” sentiment for Jennifer Armentrout. That’s me gazing at Rainbow Rowell since roughly 2014. Hopefully your wait for her return to form is less than 6 years.)
