Next week is my spring break, and last week was midterm… so I have summer and traveling on the brain! I thought it would be fun to share my top ten favorite books that take you somewhere instead of talking about my top ten favorite books in a specific genre. Although seriously, travel is a genre in my opinion! Clicking on the book’s banner takes you to its Goodreads page.
Do you have any recommendations for books that take you places? Road trips, cruises, flights, study abroad, anything. This is my favorite kind of book, so PLEASE give me recommendations on more of them I can read! I’ll love you forever. :)

I LOVE traveling through books! I have read (and LOVED) the last three you mention. Just One Day was such an emotional journey for me. And thanks to this list, I have added a couple more! =)

I love travel books! I SO want to travel one day, so it’s kind of like a way to do it…now. lol I’ve been to China and that was just the. best. of. ever. I’d loove to go to France, though, so I read Anna and the French Kiss and Marie Antoinette, Serial Killer. Epic books! I’d loooove to read The Statistical Possibility. :) My TTT!
I so want to read Austenland! I love books about travel too, so thinks for sharing these! I haven’t heard of several of them, but I’ll be looking them up. Great TTT!
You should check out some of Rachel Hawthorne’s books. Caribbean Cruising is definitely a trip. Suite Dreams is more travel-esque. If you like YA, you’ll probably like her writing.

Ooh, I love this list! Thanks for sharing. I’m trying to read more travel type books. I’m guessing you’ve read 13 Little Blue Envelopes? All At Sea by Heather Wardell takes place on a cruise ship. It’s adult and is technically part of a series but it can work as a stand alone. I adore all of Heather’s books. Zoey and the Moment of Zen by Cat Lavoie takes place at a retreat type place in…umm…Mexico? Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan takes the reader to, I think, Shanghai. You really experience the rich lifestyle. Swimming at Night by Lucy Clarke has one sister following her dead sister’s footsteps before her death..it takes her from England to Australia and perhaps Belize. A few to look into! :)
I have not yet read 13 Little Blue Envelopes! Can you believe it! I do own it, and will be reading it soon. Thanks for all the recommendations! I added all of them to my TBR. :) If you find more travel books, let me know and I’ll do the same!
I haven’t read any of these books so you have definitely added 10 more books on my to buy list. Austenland looks amazing and I am so going to read that this year.

Congrats on making it through midterms! And less than a week away from spring break, too! I can’t think of any travel books off the top of my head, possibly because I don’t read a ton of contemporary fiction, but I’ll certainly keep an eye out. I do love traveling and these books look fun.
This is a great list. When I want to travel, I usually end up reading a British mystery (e.g., Agatha Christie). I am going to have to open myself up to some different genres.
