Top Ten Tuesday Link-up – Book Characters I’d Love to Be Besties With

Posted August 12, 2019 by Jana in Top Ten Tuesday / 15 Comments

Hello! Welcome to another TTT! Sadly, like last week, I’m sick. It’s been 14 days of being super sick, and I’m going to the doctor because this is getting ridiculous. So unfortunately it’ll just be another link-up from me. I’m hoping next week I’ll be back for real! Thanks to Michelle from Pink Polka Dot Books for such a fun topic!

Which book characters would you be best friends with?

  1. I’m sorry you’ve been sick. I really hope you get well soon.
I have a request for you re the linky. The javascript required to add your link to the linky, somehow is inaccessible with screen readers (which I use because I’m blind). Could you either choose the new linky format (I’m reckoning you use InLinkz) in the future or add my link to the linky manually?

By the way, I’m happy to consider using a more accessible linky service if you have a recommendation for me. Let me know, and I’ll look into it and see if it would work for me and my blog.

      Thank you, Astrid.

I’m so sorry that you’re having trouble accessing my Linky each week. I had no idea. You’re right, I do use InLinkz. I have a subscription to them, actually, that allows me to use the service. I’m happy to add your link myself each week if you either comment with it here or send me an email. Whichever works best for you. I went to add yours from this week, but someone else beat me to it. :)

      • Thanks so much for considering accessibility. I asked my husband to add my link for me, but still would love to be able to do it myself. Until/unless you will find a more accessible linking tool, I will E-mail you my link if I can’t ask my husband (He works extreme hours). Since you have a subscription to InLinkz, I think you can choose to use the image-based linky tool. That one will typically choose a caption for the link, which is the title of the blog post. That may not be ideal as I see here linkers are using their names. It is rather ironic that the text-based InLinkz which you are currently using is inaccessible and the image-based one is accessible, but it is.

Ok, I looked into this for tonight’s TTT and I seriously don’t know how to make this work. InLinkz discontinued their image link-up on April 1st and is directing people to subscribe to their new link-up service to use an image-based linky now. It’s much more expensive each month than my current subscription. If I use their free version, only 50 people can link-up which isn’t enough for TTT. I’ve submitted a support ticket to InLinkz to see what can be done. It’s wrong of them to not provide a service that is accessible to everyone, especially with today’s technology. There’s just no excuse. I’m so sorry about this! You can email me your links in the meantime, and you can even do it before Tuesday if you want. Then I’ll be able to add you before the Linky goes live sometimes so you can be first on the list. :) Hopefully we can figure something out! I hate knowing that there are people who cannot participate fully because of some coding issues.
