Top Ten Books I’d Want With Me While Stranded On a Deserted Island

Welcome to another TTT! This week’s topic is books I’d want with me while stranded on a deserted island! I don’t know why, but being stranded on an island somewhere sounds kind of appealing. Maybe it’s the 17 months of isolation or the fact that I can’t travel right now… or that I’m going stir crazy in this house of mine… or all three (lol), but I think I’d like a couple days on this island to read and relax. Here are the books I’d want with me!

The Survival Guides

I don’t want to be stranded unprepared!
I did a little research, and these titles are highly rated and look like they would be very helpful.

1. The Survival Medicine Handbook by Joseph Alton & Amy Alton
2. Survival Hacks
by Creek Stewart

The Motivation & Commiseration Titles

I love survival stories, both non-fiction and fiction, and I think it would be nice to read about people who’ve been there.

3. On the Island
by Tracey Garvis-Graves
4. The Martian by Andy Weir
5. Whiteout by Adriana Anders
6. 438 Days: An Extraordinary True Story of Survival at Sea by Jonathan Franklin

The I Can’t-Live-Without-You Favorites

This was really hard, but I chose a title from each genre I love: contemporary romance, Christmas (it’s a genre, ok?), Mystery/Thriller, and Fantasy.

7. The Unhoneymooners
by Christina Lauren
8. Christmas At Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar
9. Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
10. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas

And My Kindle, with Everything Else!

I’m so bad at this game. I tried, trust me!
Which books would you want with you while stranded on a deserted island?

  1. What a diverse selection. I love the two first ones, didn’t even think about it. And “The Martian” is similar, it can give you a lot of help. I just selected all my favourite books (including their sequels, LOL).

This was a fun one. Thanks.

  2. Your Survival Medicine book brings me back to Peace Corps days in ’89 to ’91. We were given a book called, iirc, When There is No Doctor. Very useful even though we had doctors around. Good book suggestions!

  3. I love that you did survival guides! That was pretty smart! I meant to put some Christmas/cold books on the list…but didn’t end up with any on my list, lol…but you would need them!
