Welcome to another TTT! This week’s topic is books I’d want with me while stranded on a deserted island! I don’t know why, but being stranded on an island somewhere sounds kind of appealing. Maybe it’s the 17 months of isolation or the fact that I can’t travel right now… or that I’m going stir crazy in this house of mine… or all three (lol), but I think I’d like a couple days on this island to read and relax. Here are the books I’d want with me!
The Survival Guides
I don’t want to be stranded unprepared!
I did a little research, and these titles are highly rated and look like they would be very helpful.
1. The Survival Medicine Handbook by Joseph Alton & Amy Alton
2. Survival Hacks by Creek Stewart
The Motivation & Commiseration Titles
I love survival stories, both non-fiction and fiction, and I think it would be nice to read about people who’ve been there.
3. On the Island by Tracey Garvis-Graves
4. The Martian by Andy Weir
5. Whiteout by Adriana Anders
6. 438 Days: An Extraordinary True Story of Survival at Sea by Jonathan Franklin
The I Can’t-Live-Without-You Favorites
This was really hard, but I chose a title from each genre I love: contemporary romance, Christmas (it’s a genre, ok?), Mystery/Thriller, and Fantasy.
7. The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
8. Christmas At Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar
9. Lock Every Door by Riley Sager
10. A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
And My Kindle, with Everything Else!
I’m so bad at this game. I tried, trust me!
Which books would you want with you while stranded on a deserted island?
So fun to see that you broke up the list into practical vs not-so-practical. Love that! I feel like (within reason) if stuck on an island, I’d just be grateful for almost any type of novel! :)

What a diverse selection. I love the two first ones, didn’t even think about it. And “The Martian” is similar, it can give you a lot of help. I just selected all my favourite books (including their sequels, LOL).
This was a fun one. Thanks.
I feel like The Martian would have some pretty good survival tips!

Ooh nice! I just thought of this as “I need books to read until the rescue boat comes!” Lol!
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Your Survival Medicine book brings me back to Peace Corps days in ’89 to ’91. We were given a book called, iirc, When There is No Doctor. Very useful even though we had doctors around. Good book suggestions!
I love it! Great list. I added survival books to mine as well and just decided to go weird with the rest of it. I loved this prompt so much.

The Martian was on my list, too!

I love that you included survival how-to guides! I wrote my post before I saw yours and basically said all I’d need was a complete dummy’s guide to getting rescued and boom! I’d be rescued and back to my well-stocked home library :) LOL.
Happy TTT!

The Unhoneymooners sounds fun! Here is my Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
I love how you added survival guides! Great idea!
I love that you did survival guides! That was pretty smart! I meant to put some Christmas/cold books on the list…but didn’t end up with any on my list, lol…but you would need them!
I went for a survival guide too and also some inspirational autobiographies

The Martian is one of my all time faves, I’ve not braved On the Island yet. Happy reading! My TTT https://readwithstefani.com/ten-books-i-want-to-read-by-the-end-of-2021/
This would have been so easy if we could bring out kindle and use solar power to keep it going. 😀📚💖
