Welcome to another TTT! This week’s topic is favorite heroines (or heroes, if you prefer). I almost decided to go with heroes, because I love my book boyfriends, but then I realized while looking through old posts of mine that I’ve never talked about heroines before! So I probably should. These are all characters I’d definitely be BFFs with or love having as a sister/cousin/etc.
1. Stella from Lovelight Farms by B.K. Borison
She really cares about people and will do anything for those she loves, even if it means making life harder on herself.
2. Olive from Faking Christmas by Cindy Steele
She’s just so sweet and funny!
3. Stacey from Well Played by Jen DeLuca
She’s super relatable.
4. Garrett Gibson from Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas
She’s passionate about her career, independent in every sense of the word, and will not hesitate to beat a man with a cane if he underestimates her power as a woman and tries to take advantage of her. She tirelessly fights to be seen as an equal, and I love her.
5. Evie from Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas
She has a stammer, so she’s always been timid and quiet but now she’s fighting for her freedom, so she’s bold and daring and brave. She goes through so much growth in this book, and really comes into her own and finds so much self worth and confidence. The way she whips Sebastian into a hopelessly in love, groveling protector of her heart was amazing.
6. Zoey from The Tourist Attraction by Sarah Morganthaler
She’s kind of awkward and quirky in a very endearing way. She is easily excited and wears her heart on her sleeve. She’s also got a good head on her shoulders and a spunky personality that really shines through when she’s pushing back against someone who has done her wrong. She won’t take crap from anyone, but is also emotional and feels a lot of things. I really saw a lot of myself in her.
7. Cress from Cress by Marissa Meyer (well, all the ladies of the Lunar Chronicles, really.)
She’s also brave and feisty and strong!
8. Maybell from Twice Shy by Sarah Hogle
Maybell is precious and anxious and visits a special cafe that exists only in her mind because it’s where she feels safe in stressful times. She’s so pure and sweet, and she has the biggest dreams. I loved her quirky personality and desire to take on the world. I also seriously related to her anxiety, and feel like she’d be a great friend.
9. Heidi from Heidi’s Guide to Four Letter Words by Andi Arndt and Tara Sivec
Heidi is basically me. lol. She’s a former kindergarten teacher, so all her outfits are what I can only imagine resemble what Ms. Frizzle wore in The Magic School Bus. Honestly, I would dress (and have dressed) this exact same way. Now she’s working at a company that records and produces audiobooks of erotic novels. She brings some home and ends up randomly starting a podcast where she gushes about her crush and reads steamy scenes from these books. But she can’t read half the words because she’s so embarrassed, so she substitutes other words in and I was laughing so hard because that’s exactly what I would do. We need to be friends.
10. Olive from The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren
She’s spunky and smart and capable. She’s also totally comfortable with herself and has so much confidence. I want to be her friend and I want her to teach me how to not care about what anyone thinks.
Who are some of your favorite heroines from books?
(My Linky service is struggling today, so if it’s not working (or if it’s not even here) when you try to link up please make a comment with your link and I will add it myself when things are working again!)

My TTT for this week https://veganbookblogger.wordpress.com/2023/02/20/top-ten-tuesday-2/
I’m not sure if the linky posted or not. I am having trouble getting it to load.
It’s there! You’re actually in the coveted #1 spot! :)
I love this topic so much. I have a lot of favorite heroines!! And yes heroes as well.
This is a great list you have. I only know Cress, and she was definitely amazing!
I know I don’t share my love of the heroines in books I read nearly enough, and I need to change that! So glad you liked this week’s topic. :) Cress is so so wonderful!
Still really want to read Faking Christmas. Sounds like I have a fun heroine to look forward too plus cute story, too. :)
Ha we both have a The Lunar Chronicles one! I went for Iko instead.
My list: https://laurieisreading.com/2023/02/21/top-ten-tuesday-favorite-heroes-and-heroines/
OOh nice ones! Mostly all new to me ones except for Cress! Cress was definitely my fave from the quartet!

I loved Stella and Stacy! I was happy to see Stacy on your list because I loved that book and I feel like that’s the one out of the series most people didn’t love as much. Nice list! I twisted the topic a little to do my favorite fictional female athletes.
No linky :( … but my link is https://bookshelffantasies.com/2023/02/21/top-ten-tuesday-favorite-heroines/. Great topic, thanks!
I think the linky is working… at least at the moment. This was a fun topic—I don’t normally call out my favorite heroines specifically either, so it was good to go back through my favorite books and pick out some favorite heroines.
I left the Lunar Chronicle heriones off because I couldn’t settle on one:) Devil in Winter has been on my tbr forever, I guess I should get to it.
Cress is my favorite, all the girls are amazing and love her friendship, but yeah, Cress is speacial
I also picked Evie! Also, I selected Iko from The Lunar Chronicles, but I am a Cresswell stan! They are my fave couple!
I’m not familiar with most of these, but Heidi definitely sounds like a crack up!
My link seems to have posted, but just in case, here it is: http://www.blogginboutbooks.com/2023/02/top-ten-tuesday-top-ten-books-by-black.html
Happy TTT!

I love this topic! Olive and Cress and the rest of the ladies from the Lunar Chronicles totally won my heart, and a good heroine can totally make a book for me.
