Welcome to another TTT! This week’s topic is Authors I’d Love a New Book From. These could be authors that have passed away, who have retired from writing, who have inexplicably (or not inexplicably) gone quiet, or who might just not be able to keep up with how quickly you read their books! So basically… here’s a bunch of my favorite authors. lol.
1. Lisa Kleypas
I’m in some author groups and one of Lisa’s author friends said she’s ok and currently writing a book, so phew! I’m glad she’s doing well. I’m so excited for her next release, whatever it may be!
2. Tessa Dare
I’ve heard that she’s been going through some life things, and I wish her all the very best. She did pop on social media at the beginning of the year to say that The Bride Bet is still coming, but there’s no release date yet. I can’t wait!
3. Rebecca Yarros
I want Onyx Storm waaaaaay sooner than end of January 2025!
4. Mary Higgins Clark
Her books were my gateway into adult fiction as a teen, and my very first mysteries! I miss her books so much. They’ve always been so comforting and nostalgic.
5. Jennifer Armentrout
This is cheating because I know she writes so many books, but I want another romantic suspense from her like Til Death! I loved that book, and she’s so great at romantic suspense.
6. Sarah Morgenthaler
I love her Moose Springs books, and am excited for her untitled 4th one, which was announced to also be the first in a new series as well! She’s got a Christmas book coming out this Fall that I’m looking forward to reading, too.
7. K.C. Dyer
I loved Eighty Days to Elsewhere, and wish she would continue that series. The second book was a DNF for me, but the idea of the series had so much promise and then all word of future installments just slipped away.
8. C.L. Wilson
I am waiting a thousand years for 2030 when, according to Goodreads, The Jaguar King will be published (I’m sure this is a placeholder date). The release date has moved a lot over the years, and I really hope it happens!
9. Mary Ann Marlowe
I loved Dating By the Book! She’s published one more book since then, which is part of a series I’m not interested in. But even so, it’s been a while since she’s released anything and I hope she’s still writing!
10. Nina Bocci and Alice Clayton
They released Roman Crazy, book #1 in the Broads Abroad series, in 2016 and no more books came. Even individually they haven’t published anything in the last couple years, but I’d love it if they got back together to continue this series! Roman Crazy is one of my favorites!
Which authors do you wish would release a new book?

I’ve never read a novel by Mary Higgins Clark but do have authors that I have all the nostalgia for because they penned the first adult novels I read. I have also seen some of the TV film adaptations based on Clark’s novels and they’ve been entertaining. :)
I’ve not read anything from these Authors. I’ve got Fourth Wing on my TBR shelves though 😂
Have a great week!
That was a fun challenge. As always, hard to decide which ones were the absolute favourites.
Lol I had a few “cheats” on my list, where the author writes pretty quickly but not as fast as I would like.
I used to devour Mary Higgins Clark’s books as well! I only put the author’s names, no explanations, LOL! I feel like I should go add stuff to my post, but I don’t have time so it will be what it will be, LOL! Have a great week!
Totally agree with you about Rebecca Yarros. I love her books! Happy Tuesday!
Pretty much all of mine were cheating–I realized that I wanted more of very specific books from certain authors. I haven’t read anything by the authors on your list, but I love the name Tessa Dare!
I don’t think I’ve read any books by the authors on your list, but I hope you get a new book from at least one of them soon!
Nice work. I must start Moose Springs!
Thank you for the news on Lisa Kleypas and Tessa Dare! I have been particularly worried about Kleypas, who seemed to drop off the face of the earth. I vaguely remember hearing that Dare had been struggling with long Covid, but I may be mixing her up with someone else. At any rate, I’m so relieved to hear that Lisa Kleypas is writing (or writing again), and I wish both her and Tessa Dare the best.
You’re welcome! Lisa Kleypas moved houses and has been writing in the meantime, according to Eloisa James (she answered a question about Lisa in her Facebook reader group). I also heard that Lisa’s editor from Avon moved to a new publisher after staying with Avon for ~30 years, which kind of shocked a lot of the historical romance writing community. There’s some speculation that she’s trying to regain her footing after that, but nothing has been confirmed if that’s playing a part in her hiatus. Tessa Dare said she’s been dealing with some health issues (she posted about this on her site’s homepage this past January), but she’s around on social media every once in a while. Anyway, I fell down a rabbit hole trying to find out if they’re both doing ok I was so worried about them and their families!) and am happy my late-night internet wanderings were helpful for you! LOL
I don’t know this author, but Dating By The Book’s title intrigued me so I looked it up, and it looks like Mary Anne Marlowe has a brand-new release coming up in August! (Holding Out for a…Gyro :P)
Oh my GOSH, I totally forgot about that! I even got a review copy! LOL. Oops! Isn’t that the cutest title?
I hope Evie Dunmoore writes a new book soon!
