Welcome to another TTT! This week’s topic is a relationship freebie! The idea is to pick a relationship type and choose characters who fit that relationship as it relates to you. So, characters you’d like to date, be friends with, be enemies with, etc. Bookish families you’d like to be a part of, characters you’d want as your siblings, pets you’d like to take for yourself, etc. I decided to go with Bookish People I’d like to Date! Would I say these are my favorite male characters of all time? Probably not, because I have so many favorites and add more every day. Plus, I wouldn’t want to date some of my favorites. LOL.

1. Dallas from My Phony Valentine by Courtney Walsh
This sexy hockey player is protective, loyal, and a grandma’s boy with the biggest heart.
2. Nathan from The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams
Another pro athlete, but this time he’s a football player! He’s so sweet and really cares about his people.
3. Rhys from A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
I have a major crush on this fae male who feels love on a deeper level than most romantic heroes.
4. Lachlan from First to Fall by Jenny B. Jones
Laghlan is so amazing! He’s a nerdy, awkward video game developer and has so much snark. He’s super flirty, too, and I love a good flirt.
5. Ethan from Hello Stranger by Lisa Kleypas
This guy is one of my biggest all time book loves. He’s a little dangerous, but I don’t care.

6. Wesley from Twice Shy by Sarah Hogle
He’s my favorite cinnamon roll, and I know he’d be accepting of all my little quirks because he understands.
7. Easton from Enjoy the View by Sarah Morgenthaler
I’ve had a crush on him since I read the first Moose Springs book, and here he is in all his glory. If fluffy wild animals fall in love with him, then that’s really all I need.
8. Gabriel from The Wallflower Wager by Tessa Dare
He’s an animal lover.
9. Starry Night by Debbie Macomber
He’s a grumpy, reclusive writer with a cuddly dog and he lives in the wilds of Alaska in a cozy cabin I’d be happy to take up residence in.
10. Mal from Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo
I just LOVE HIM.
Can you think of any bookish characters you’d love to date?
What topic did you pick for this week’s relationship freebie?
(This post is a re-post from March 6, 2023. I just needed a break after a crazy last few days!)

I love this topic so much. And your characters sound amazing. I only read about Mal and definitely loved him.
I’m not familiar with any of these characters but this was a fun twist on the topic!
Jana, I love this idea. Definitely one I’d like to use for one of those freebie weeks. :) So fun and I spy some characters on your list I’d be most eager to meet.
Oh yay for Easton! I just loved him, as well. Happy reading!
Ethan would be on my list to date, too!
Ooh nice topic choice! For some reason I haven’t done this topic…or at least not in awhile! Loved Rhys too but have to admit I didn’t really care for Mal in the beginning of the series. At some point I resigned myself to having to find something to like about him since I could tell he’d be the ONE. Lol.
Here’s my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!

I loved Dallas!! He was so amazing! I like your spin on this week’s topic. Have a great week!
I adored Nathan from the Cheat Sheet! Actually, I adore all of her characters. I’m glad you chose one for your list! It’s a fun topic.
Fun list! And yeah, good point. Not all of my favorite characters are dating material, either.
(I am very confused. I just wrote that comment today, August 20. Why does it say it was posted March 7 of last year? So weird.)
I’m glad you’ve found so many wonderful book boyfriends to love!
Happy TTT!

Book boyfriends are certainly the best!! I know I would love the Kleypas and Dare boyfriends you have mentioned here (read those books only of the ten)
I came here strictly to cheer on a fellow member of Team Mal! I feel like everyone loves the Darkling and Mal gets no love. Thanks for helping me to feel less lonely 🤣
Thank you!! LOL. I really love him and don’t understand why he’s so pushed to the side! I do like the Darkling as well, but Mal!!
Hahah I hated Mal, he was pretty whiny in the books 😂 I went rogue on this week’s topic for a break too
What an interesting take on the topic. Myself, I’ve been happily married for over forty years, so I wouldn’t be able to find ten guys I’d like to date. LOL But I always wanted a sister, so this is what I chose.
I hope your crazy last few days will calm down soon. Have a good day!
Oops! I had the wrong date in my head when I looked at this topic! Since I handwrite my drafts of these, I do have this one slightly ready to go! Lol. I’ll have to do this one next week then! Great picks! New to me ones except for Rhys and Mal.
Here’s my Tuesday Post

I’m not much of a romance readers, so I’m not familiar with these guys. They do sound great, though, and the nice thing about fictional boyfriends is that you can “date” them all and at the same time too :) Enjoy!
Happy TTT!

This was a fun list and idea. I didn’t think of doing something like that but probably because my husband doesn’t want to compete with my book boyfriends. Ha! Have a great week! Hope things slow down for you.
I can’t say I’ve ever read about a character I wished to date. (Then again, I read a lot of horror and science fiction. :) )
But this is a very cool idea for a post.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I’ve only read The Cheat Sheet and Wallflower Wager and yes, I love that Gabriel is an animal lover! I’ve read one of Sarah Hogle’s books, You Deserve Each Other, and I loved it so I’m definitely adding Twice Shy to the TBR as well!
I haven’t read any of these books but based on your descriptions I think I’d love to meet Lachlan and Easton. Video games and fluffy animals! I picked animal companions for my theme this week :)
I like your choices, my relationship topic was a bit of an unconventional one but still valid.
