Welcome to another TTT! This past week has been a hard one for me, so I don’t have a ton of brainpower to put into this week’s topic: Books I Enjoyed that Were Outside My Comfort Zone. To be honest, TTT slipped my mind altogether and I remembered it literally half an hour before the post was supposed to go live. Oops!
I don’t push myself much with books, because I never want reading to be a chore, so I think that’s why it’s tricky for me to think of many. I can think of one off the top of my head: The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I loved it, even though it was hard to read.
Anyway, sorry I don’t have much for you to read today! I’ll be back again next week with a list like usual!

The Book Thief took me several tries before I was able to read it. Death as narrator was so off-putting.
I honestly think I finished it only because it was required reading for my grad school program. And, in the end it was lovely and I am glad I read it but I agree that Death narrating it made it feel a bit uncomfortable.

I’m not surprised that you liked The Book Thief. It is fantastic and will be on my list next week.
I also found it difficult to list books outside my comfort zone because I hardly ever like them. But, because I am in two book clubs and have been in others before, I have read quite a few that would fit that description. The most difficult part was that I don’t like to list books that I didn’t like that much.
But, I managed in the end. Thanks for that interesting topic.

I don’t tend to read books outside my comfort zone either. But I ended up picking books that weren’t quite my “usual” kind of read. In some ways they still kinda were but I felt like only loosely! Like some picks only had the barest touch of paranormal or fantasy elements or it was paranormal(ish) but with a paranormal type I don’t typically read. So the topic more or less spun to books that weren’t my “usual” kind of read the more I look at it! Lol.

Can I just say I love your honesty this week! I try to participate as much as I can but I often get behind too. And it helps to not be too hard on myself when the host is not posting, lol. You do such a great job with this every week though and I love reading the lists!!
