Top Ten Favorite Secondary & Minor Characters

Posted May 18, 2026 by Jana in Top Ten Tuesday / 14 Comments

Welcome to another TTT! This week’s topic is: Favorite Secondary/Minor Characters. I am a character-driven reader and tend to get attached to many characters, but I’ve tried super hard to narrow it down to these ten!

1. Rhiannon from Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros
She’s such a good friend to Violet!

2. Khamsin’s young male assistant from The Winter King by C.L. Wilson
I cannot for the life of me remember this kid’s name, but he was so cute and so brave.

3. Grandpa Paul from You, With a View by Jessica Joyce
I loved this grandpa so much and I’d love a book set back in time when he fell in love with Noelle’s grandma.

4. Naomi’s mother in law, Deborah Rose, from You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle
This woman. I both hate and love her.

5. Easton’s twin sister from the Moose Springs, Alaska series by Sarah Morgenthaler

6. Lucien from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
I love Lucien! He’s got the best sense of humor, and he’s so loyal.

7. Nathan’s teammates from The Cheat Sheet by Sarah Adams

8. Sylvie’s best friend, Nari, from Christmas At Frozen Falls by Kiley Dunbar
She’s a travel blogger! I want to go on some adventures with her.

9. Birdie’s Aunt Mona from Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett
We would be best friends. She is mid-thirties, an artist, lives in an old theater that she has re-purposed as an art studio, and cosplays every day. She sews intricate costumes inspired by people in history and pop culture and has a huge collection of wigs, not to mention an entire rainbow of make-up to select from to complete her daily looks.

10. Gale Hawthorne from The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins
I might be the only person who is on team Gale… I’m sorry, but I really do not like Peeta. At all.

Who are some of your favorite secondary and minor characters?

I haven’t read any of these so can’t comment on your choices. So often the minor characters play such an important part!

  2. I do like characters as well, but honestly, they don’t tend to stick with me super long, unless it’s a series that follow the same people…which is not the same as this topic, LOL! All that to say, I went a different route today. have a great week!

  3. I haven’t read as many books as others and haven’t read any of these so I am not familiar with the characters but at least I’ve heard of quite a few of them! Ha! I need to start reading some! Thanks for hosting, as always!
