Welcome to another TTT! And happy New Year! I really, really hope the best for 2022 and can’t wait for all the amazing books that are being released this year (in spite of covid and the supply chain shortages that are pushing book release dates back). This is one of those topics that always hurts my TBR (for the better, though, let’s be honest) and I’m excited to see what everyone is excited for this year! As the topic states, I’m limiting this list to books releasing in January through June. And no, I could not limit this list to 10 picks only, so here’s 17!

1. Weather Girl by Rachel Lynn Solomon (January 11)

A TV meteorologist and a sports reporter scheme to reunite their divorced bosses with unforecasted results in this charming romantic comedy from the author of The Ex Talk.

Ari Abrams has always been fascinated by the weather, and she loves almost everything about her job as a TV meteorologist. Her boss, legendary Seattle weatherwoman Torrance Hale, is too distracted by her tempestuous relationship with her ex-husband, the station’s news director, to give Ari the mentorship she wants. Ari, who runs on sunshine and optimism, is at her wits’ end. The only person who seems to understand how she feels is sweet but reserved sports reporter Russell Barringer.

In the aftermath of a disastrous holiday party, Ari and Russell decide to team up to solve their bosses’ relationship issues. Between secret gifts and double dates, they start nudging their bosses back together. But their well-meaning meddling backfires when the real chemistry builds between Ari and Russell.

2. Lucky Leap Day by Ann Marie Walker (January 18)

Friends becoming something much more in this hilarious romantic comedy from author Ann Marie Walker. A whirlwind trip to Ireland is supposed to end with a suitcase full of wool sweaters and souvenir pint glasses—not a husband you only just met!

After one-too-many whiskeys, fledgling screenwriter Cara Kennedy takes a page out of someone else’s script when she gets caught up in the Irish tradition of women proposing on Leap Day. She thought she might have dreamt everything, until she wakes the next morning with a hot guy in her bed and a tin foil ring on her finger. Her flight is in four hours, her clothes are all over the room, and she has the most important meeting of her career in exactly two days—and on top of everything else, her husband has a dog who thinks Cara is a perfect surrogate mother, despite the fact that she has never been much of an animal lover…

Deciding to work things out stateside, Finn and her new fur baby accompany her to LA, where Finn spends his days going on auditions and his nights charming his new bride, leaving Cara to wonder whether this is real love, or if Finn is another aspiring actor just after her Hollywood connections? 3. The Ex-Husband by Karen Hamilton (January 18)

From international bestselling author Karen Hamilton comes another pulse-pounding domestic thriller set against a lush, tropical backdrop as a woman fleeing her past as a con artist finds herself trapped aboard a cruise ship with someone who not only knows about that past, but will stop at nothing to get revenge.

It’s an offer she can’t refuse…and might not survive.

4. Woman Last Seen by Adele Parks (February 1)

Leigh Fletcher: happily married stepmom to two gorgeous boys goes missing on Monday. Her husband, Mark, says he knows nothing of her whereabouts. She went to work and just never came home. Their family is shattered.

Kai Janssen: married to wealthy Dutch businessman Daan and vanishes the same week. Kai left their luxurious penthouse and glamorous world without a backward glance. She seemingly evaporated into thin air. Daan is distraught.

Detective Clements knows that people disappear all the time—far too frequently. Most run away from things, some run toward and others are taken but find their way back. A sad few never return. 5. The Rebound by Catherine Walsh (February 14)

6. Meet Me in the Margins by Melissa Ferguson (February 15)

8. A Brush With Love by Mazey Eddings (March 1, 2022)

Harper is anxiously awaiting placement into a top oral surgery residency program when she crashes (literally) into Dan. Harper would rather endure a Novocaine-free root canal than face any distractions, even one this adorable.

A first-year dental student with a family legacy to contend with, Dan doesn’t have the same passion for pulling teeth that Harper does. Though he finds himself falling for her, he is willing to play by Harper’s rules.

9. The Astronaut and the Star by Jen Comfort (March 1)

16. Deep Water by Emma Bamford (May 31)

Welcome to another TTT, and the last one of 2021! I hope you had a lovely Christmas, and I wish you a very happy New Year! I hope 2022 brings all of us what we need. Last week’s Books I Hope Santa Brings TTT was so much fun, and I heard that some of you played Santa and spread some cheer. That’s wonderful! This week’s topic is one of my favorites! I love looking back on my year of reading and sharing my top ten favorite reads. These were all not necessarily released in 2021, I just chose to read them in 2021. At the time of writing this post, I have read 62 books. Considering I had major eye surgery (on both eyes) and haven’t been able to see well since the middle of August I think that’s a really good number! I’m sharing these books in the order I read them.

1. Hotshot Doc by R.S. Grey
A delightful medical romantic comedy (between a surgeon and his surgical assistant) with major swoons and banter.

2. Twice Shy by Sarah Hogle
The sweetest hug in a book, featuring a whimsical mansion, a grumpy cinnamon roll hero, a sunshiney eccentric heroine, and some of the best anxiety rep I’ve seen.

3. A Curse So Dark and Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer
A decadently written YA Beauty and the Beast retelling.

4. The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood
A heartwarmingly hilarious romance between a young professor and a ph.D candidate, who strike up a deal to pretend to date one another to further his career and dodge the awkward set-ups by her best friend.

5. An Offer from a Gentleman by Julia Quinn
This sweet Cinderella story is third book in the Bridgerton series! I tried really hard to read this entire series in 2021, but I started to get tired of them after the train wreck that was To Sir Phillip, With Love (book #5). I’m hoping to pick the series up again soon!

6. The Winter King by C.L. Wilson
The most sweeping and magical fantasy romance I’ve ever read! Are there more books like this out there? I need recommendations!

7. The Fortunate Ones by R.S. Grey
A very fun fake dating romance between a billionaire and the eccentric girl who works at the country club he frequents.

8. Project Hail Mary by Andy Weir
An exciting science fiction journey that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I listened to the audio, and it was phenomenal. An alien and a human meet each other in outer space, each of them on a quest to save their home planets from an apocalyptic infestation.

9. The Twelve Dates of Christmas by Jenny Bayliss
A friends to lovers romance that takes place in the cutest little English town. Our heroine has hit a dating dry spell and signs up for a series of twelve dates, leading up to Christmas. This is the most festive and coziest Christmas romance I’ve read in a long time, and the audio is amazing.

10. Snowflakes at the Little Christmas Tree Farm by Jaimie Admans
While drunk our heroine purchases a Christmas tree farm in Scotland without knowing anything about farming. The place is a complete and total disaster once she arrives, but luckily the big, fuzzy flannel-clad, sexy pumpkin farmer, his sweet mother, and his adorable little dog are there to help! It’s a magical story that I completely fell in love with.

I can’t believe this year is almost over. I thought 2020 was hard, but 2021 has been even harder. I’m looking forward to better days ahead, and lots more wonderful books!

I’m reading this one right now because I just finished another Christmas book if Jaimie’s, Snowflakes at the Little Christmas Tree Farm ant it was pure Christmas magic!

My TBTBSanta, Shekenah, sent me the sequel to this book (a Christmas book!!) so it’s time to binge both of them right away.

An accidental dog swap unleashes an unexpected love match in this new romantic comedy from New York Times bestselling author Julia London.

How did you two meet?

The quintessential question asked to every couple. And the answer is usually some bubbly, lovey dovey tale of being struck in the bum by Cupid’s arrow.
