This book tag was created by A Booktube Book.
I love doing book tags, and this one seemed like a fun way to wrap up 2017! The creator of the tag has encouraged us to match up books with current events. What a fun way to remember the year. :) I did my best and didn’t use the same book for every single author, so… that was hard because there were many books that fit each prompt.
1. First Ever Female Doctor Who:
Favorite Female Protagonist
Veronica Mars in The Thousand-Dollar Tan Line by Rob Thomas. I loved her in the show, so there was never a question as to whether or not I would love her in the books!
2. GCC Cuts Toes with Qatar:
An Author You Cut Ties With
April Henry. Technically I cut ties with her sometime last year when I finished and really disliked another book of hers. However, I had decided that SO MANY TIMES and for some reason I kept getting sucked back in! This year I had the opportunity to review another one of her books and this time I refrained. That’s how I know I’ve officially given up.
3. La La Land Oscar Mix-Up:
A Book That surprised You
Hunted by Meagan Spooner. I was really surprised by how much this book stuck with me after I finished reading it. It’s a very beautiful book, and I loved it. But I read it almost a year ago and still remember how it made me feel. That’s surprising to me.
4. Hurricanes and Earthquakes:
A Book That Rocked Your World
Till Death by Jennifer Armentrout. It was amaaaaaazing in every sense of the word, and I wish I could read it again for the first time.
5. Louvre Abu Dhabi:
Favorite Book Cover Art
Caraval by Stephanie Garber. I love this beautiful cover, and I love this beautiful book!
6. Da Vinci’s Salvator Mundi Sells for $450M:
A Take-My-Money Book
I absolutely HAD TO HAVE the pretty UK Harry Potter hardcovers. They’re amazing!
7. Total Eclipse:
A Sequel That Overshadows the First Book
Hunting Prince Dracula by Kerri Maniscalco. I wanted to pick this book for favorite female protagonist as well because Audrey Rose is amazing, but I’m doing my best to just pick one book per prompt! I LOVED HPD so much more than I loved Stalking Jack the Ripper. The series just keeps getting better and better!
8. Muslim Ban:
Favorite Diverse Book
The Tea Dragon Society by Katie O’Neill is beautiful!
9. Italy Doesn’t Qualify for World Cup:
Most Disappointing Book
The Crown’s Fate by Evelyn Skye broke my heart. I loved The Crown’s Game so much and was super excited for this sequel, but it was absolutely not what I wanted.
10. Prince Harry Engaged:
Favorite Ship
Lucy Hutton and Joshua Templeman in The Hating Game by Sally Thorne give me life.
11. Star Wars: The Last Jedi:
Most Anticipated Book
Escaping from Houdini (Stalking Jack the Ripper #3) by Kerri Maniscalco!! I can’t wait!!! (This is not the official cover, just the image Kerri used when she announced the title.)
